Following the announcement of the signing of Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli to replace Buğra “Calyx” Arkın, Eternal Fire have announced further roster changes, with both Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç and coach Timur “bishop” Şengül making an exit from the lineup. While bishop is released from his contract, xfl0ud will remain on the bench for the time being
In their place, Ahmet “paz” Karahoca and Canpolat “hardstyle” Yıldıran have joined. Both had left CS:GO in late 2021 along with MAJ3R to compete in VALORANT under Digital Athletics for the first half of 2022, but went out in 5-6th place in the VRL Turkey closed qualifier.
paz and hardtyle return to CS after six months away
Eternal Fire put Turkey back on the map in CS:GO by qualifying for the PGL Antwerp Major earlier this year, the first time a majority Turkish team had made a Major since FACEIT London 2018. However, they were unable to find success at the main event, exiting the Challengers stage 1-3 after losses to Bad News Eagles, Spirit, and MIBR.
The additions of paz and hardstyle mark the reunion of Turkey’s most accomplished core in CS:GO, with XANTARES, MAJ3R, and paz having attended two Majors together.
Eternal Fire currently hold a spot in ESL Pro League Season 16 after having qualified through the Conference stage in June, which they will play after the summer break.
The team’s new lineup is:
Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş
Özgür “woxic” Eker
Ömer “imoRR” Karataş
Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli
Ahmet “paz” Karahoca
Canpolat “hardstyle” Yıldıran (coach)
Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç (inactive)
