The qualifying tournament for the 18th CS:GO Major will start on Tuesday, October 4, with four tournaments taking place across three countries to decide the 24 teams that will attend IEM Rio 2022 Major and compete for $1,250,000.
IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR A and B will be played simultaneously in the island nation of Malta while the Americas RMR will take place in Stockholm, Sweden. PAX AU in Melbourne will host the Asia RMR and will be the only event out of the four with a crowd.
52 teams will fight for just 24 spots at the upcoming IEM Rio 2022 Major
Europe
The two European RMRs will run between October 4-9 and will host the 32 European teams that qualified for this stage through their placings at the PGL Major Antwerp or the open qualifiers. The squads have been evenly divided into two tournaments, with identical Swiss-system formats which will see eight teams from each event qualify for the Major.
The opening matches will be in a best-of-one format and once teams reach an elimination or qualification match, they will play for their status in a best-of-three series.
The only difference between the two events comes from the amount of Legends Stage spots available from each as Europe A will grant four spots in the second stage of the Major while Europe B will only grant three.
The attending teams for IEM Road to Rio Europe RMR A and B are:
