FIFA 23 Stadiums: ICONIC stadiums set for omission again

FIFA 23 is still a way off, but there will already be plenty of work going into the new game to make sure it is as realistic as possible.

One way to achieve this is by getting the licences for top stadiums into the game, something that EA is always looking to add to.

With next-gen graphics showing off all their hard work, take a look at what additional stadiums we could see in FIFA 23 below.

Latest – Bayern side with eFootball

Konami has confirmed that Bayern Munich have extended their partnership with eFootball, with the German champions continuing to have their stadium and full squad face-scans EXCLUSIVE to eFootball.

This news will no doubt be a blow to EA Sports and FIFA fans, with hopes of seeing the mighty Allianz Arena return in FIFA 23 completely dashed.

Bayern Munich’s stadium has been absent in FIFA for a couple of years and this will continue for the foreseeable future with a multi-year deal agreed between Konami and the German champions.

Instead, we’ll all have to get used to seeing Bayern in Sanderson Park once more in FIFA 23.

Release Date

Of course, we don’t have an official release date yet, as the game is still months away, however, it is usually released around the same time every year, so we can make an educated guess.

FIFA 22 was fully launched on Friday, 1 October 2021, so if EA follows the same trend, then Friday, 30 September 2022 could be the date to keep an eye on.

This would mean early access for pre-orders from Tuesday, 27 September for those who buy the Ultimate Edition of the game.

The 10-hour EA Play trial usually offers players a limited number of hours of gaming too and goes live even earlier than pre-orders, so expect to see that and the Web App around a week before the full launch.

FIFA 22 New Stadiums

EA added five new stadiums to FIFA 22, which were:

  • Brentford Community Stadium (Brentford)
  • Estadio da Luz (Benfica)
  • Estadio do Dragao (Porto)
  • Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla (Cadiz CF)
  • SchucoArena (Arminia Bielefeld)

With the next-gen graphics they look top-notch, but perhaps the best looking is Benfica’s Estadio da Luz.

Due to restrictions caused by the pandemic we had to wait until December for the Brentford Community Stadium to be patched into the game.

EA has the full rights to the Premier League, so newly-promoted Nottingham Forest will see their home ground feature next season.

Wishlist

EA usually adds a stadium or two from the Bundesliga and La Liga each year, so expect more to be added to the mix, although Barcelona’s Camp Nou and Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena are both exclusive to Konami and PES/eFootball.

However, with the delay to eFootball, EA could make a swoop and try to prize away some of their assets, maybe getting Juventus’s Allianz Stadium at the same time!

There are still 20 MLS teams without a stadium in the game too, and EA could look to rectify this.

Given David Beckham’s relationship with EA, his Inter Miami side’s stadium is perhaps one of the more likely to be included, although that may occur after their spectacular new home is built.

Forest on the up

EA added a total of five new stadiums to FIFA 22, but which grounds could we see brought to the game in 2022?

Nottingham Forest have now been confirmed as the Championship Play-Off champions, so we should see the City Ground feature next season.

Forest’s home turf has a capacity of just over 30,000 so it was one of the biggest in the Football League and would be a welcome addition to FIFA 23.
