Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Information Released

Set to release next summer, Square Enix has released new information at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival about the MMO’s fifth expansion, Dawntrail.

New to this release is the “Viper” class. This class will let players take control of a close-range fighter that uses two one-handed blades. These can also be combined into a single two-handed weapon.

Also new to this release is the city of Tuliyollal. Located in the Northern Reaches of Yok Tural, this area serves as the seat of the federal nation-state governing Tural.

Another new area coming to Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is the tropical region of Kozama’uka. Home to rivers, streams, and waterfalls, it is joined by the arid region of Shaaloani that spans vast rain-starved plains.

A new allied tribe in the form of The Moblins will make an appearance, while the Eliminator serves as a new threat.

Finally, a new alliance raid will make an appearance with Echoes of Vana’diel. For longtime fans, this will serve as a crossover series with Final Fantasy XI.
