Fluxo lock in final spot at BLAST Premier Fall Final

Fluxo have topped the BLAST Premier Fall North America Showdown following a win over MIBR in the grand final, earning themselves a ticket to the Fall Final in Copenhagen at the end of November and completing the team list for the $425,000 event.

The qualification marks a superb bounce back from Fluxo, who only narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Americas RMR and faltered in their first LAN appearance at ESL Challenger Rotterdam. With no Major to look forward to, the Brazilian side have instead guaranteed themselves the chance to face some top teams toward the end of the year, and will be able to put their full focus toward preparing for the tournament.

Lucaozy had immense impact for Fluxo in their tournament run

Lucas “Lucaozy” Neves‘ performances were a highlight aspect of Fluxo‘s run through the single-elimination bracket, with the 21-year-old ending the tournament as the highest-rated player with a 1.26 rating and showcasing stellar impact particularly on the T side.

He helped his team get early control on Dust2 in the deciding series, recovering from a 0-3 deficit with a spree of five rounds to take the lead. MIBR remained competitive in the half with a handful of rounds of their own, but it was Fluxo who edged out a lead at halftime, 8-7, before adding to that with a pistol win in the second half.

MIBR responded with a force-buy and even briefly pulled ahead, but Fluxo were swift to get back into the driver’s seat with strong defenses en route to a 16-12 finish.

Vertigo had little to write home about as MIBR were in control for most of the map, an initial back-and-forth trading of forcebuys going in their favor to give them control on the T side. Henrique “HEN1” Teles was a particularly fearsome force throughout MIBR‘s effort on the map, leading the way to a 12-3 scoreline at the break before the team quickly took things over the line, winning the map 16-5.

Fluxo got off to a better start on Nuke, going up 4-0, but were left wanting for much of the remainder of the half with MIBR stabilizing on the CT side. Once Lucaozy and company were on the defense though, the momentum of the map shifted once again, and the young rifler combined with strong impact rounds from Vinicius “vsm” Moreira to lead his team to clinching a 16-13 victory to take the series.
