Forza Horizon 5 has proven to be quite popular. Four million players popular, in fact.
We absolutely loved it, giving the game a 9 out of 10 in our review and calling it “another action-packed, adrenaline-fuelled open world racing extravaganza”. Now, Xbox’s Phil Spencer has revealed that, across PC, Cloud and Xbox (it’s an Xbox exclusive on console) it has a massive 4.5 million players.
Forza Horizon 4 only managed 7 million players four months after release, but Forza Horizon 5 has been out for just a few days. It launched on Tuesday 9th though those who’d purchased the Premium Edition got it even earlier. That doesn’t mean there are four and a half million people playing it simultaneously, but that number have at least tried the game.

The fact it’s on Xbox Game Pass probably has a lot to do with that; anyone who subscribes to the service can play it for free. But it’s still quite an achievement and we’re eager to see where developers Playground are going to take it next. We got a LEGO expansion for Forza Horizon 4, so how about throwing Transformers into Forza 5. Add Optimus Prime as an announcer and Microsoft wouldn’t be able to take our money fast enough.
