FSV Zwickau vs Queens Park Rangers Match Analysis and Prediction

Queens Park Rangers continue their pre-season preparations with a contest against FSV Zwickau on Wednesday.

While QPR have played just two matches this sunner, their German opponents are heading into their fourth game as they prepare for the start of the German third tier.

This contest will represent Zwickau’s penultimate fixture of their schedule, with 3. Bundesliga beginning on July 24.

They have already claimed victories over Wismut Gera and Vorwats Steyr, but theyr were beaten 6-2 by second-tier Jahn Regensburg either side of those victories.

Zwickau finished in 10th place in the league standings during the 2021-22 campaign, 16 points adrift of the top three and 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

Former United States international Joe Enochs will be hoping that home advantage and QPR’s indefferent start both contribute to a surprise result posted on Wednesday.

With Michael Beale having taken over from Mark Warburton in the Queens Park Rangers dugout, each of their squad are attempting to make a positive impression ahead of the new second-tier campaign.

However, at the moment, their performances on the pitch have been mixed with a three-goal lead being given up at Crawley Town on Saturday.

Although fewer first-team players featured in the second period, conceding three goals in 17 minutes from a winning position will not have been taken positively by Beale.

On a positive note, the returning Macauley Bonne scored twice as he looks to earn a spot in the plans of his new head coach having scored 12 times for Ipswich Town last season.

Three of the first-team additions also got some game time in the first half last time out, but there is much work to be done over the next four matches if the London outfit want to hit the ground running in the upcoming league campaign.

FSV Zwickau news

Zwickau boss Joe Enochs is expected to name his strongest starting lineup as they will be looking to post a surprise result on home ground.

This fixture represents their marquee game of the pre-season, but one of their key players Johan Gomez will again miss out through a ligament injury.

Queens Park Rangers news

Beale went with a back four against Crawley, switching from a defensive three, and the same formation is expected to be utilised here.

Rob Dickie should retain his place in the defence, but Macauley Bonne may remain on the substitute’s bench for this one despite having scored at the weekend.

Prediction and Odds

FSV Zwickau head into the contest with more minutes in their legs, something which could make the encounter more competitive than it could have been.

However, QPR have shaken off some of the cobwebs now, and we feel that they should be able to come away with all three points.
