Following the release of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, we’ve put together a new guide naming all Badges and their locations in the game.

You can use Badges one at a time, and it adds a new ability to your arsenal for as long as it’s equipped. You can swap them out before and after levels, so you’re able to tailor the abilities you want to fit the needs of the level you’re playing. Finding the Badges is actually the easy part: every single Badge except for one is purchased from a Poplin Shop or given to you throughout the story. We’ve managed to round up every single Badge, and you can find a list of each one’s functions below. We won’t discuss any final boss spoilers (nor any details about the final level), but we will discuss the final Badge’s function – if you’d rather keep that a surprise, bookmark this page and come back later!

As mentioned earlier, obtaining Badges is easy — so easy, in fact, that you probably won’t need a guide! With the exception of the final badge, each one is either obtained through shops or given to you as the story progresses. More become available as you clear more levels. Running through each main story level once will give you more than enough Flower Coins to purchase them all, so don’t worry. Obtaining all of the game’s Badges is actually one of the six requirements for 100% completion. Good to keep in mind in case you wind up going for the other five medals too. In the meantime, here’s a full Super Mario Bros. Wonder Badges plus each of their effects.

Here’s the full list of all badges in Super Mario Bros. Wonder:

  • Parachute Cap lets you use your hat to glide down to safety and extend your time in the air. If the character you’re playing as doesn’t wear a hat, they’ll pull out a custom one!
  • Wall-Climb Jump changes the way your character wall jumps. When you slide up against a wall, pressing the button will cause you to hop directly upward. From there, you’ll be able to wall kick like normal until you touch a separate wall.
  • Dolphin Kick lets you press the button for a quick speed boost underwater. It’s absolutely essential for certain levels, specifically in the beach world.
  • Floating High Jump increases your jump height with a mini-flutter jump.
  • Crouching High Jump works like it does in Super Mario Bros. 2 – crouch for a moment and then unleash a higher jump than usual.
  • Timed High Jump increases your jump height if you press the button with good timing.
  • Fast Dash slightly increases your run speed and lets you maintain your speed on sand.
  • Grappling Vine is awesome! Press the button and you’ll extend a vine that latches onto the nearest wall. You’ll be able to cling onto the wall for a moment, and you can then extend another Grappling Vine right after.
  • Boosting Spin Jump adds a small hop to the end of your jump when you press the button. It grants a really good amount of height, which makes reaching the top of Flagpoles much easier.
  • Coin Reward lets you earn coins simply by defeating enemies.
  • Auto Super Mushroom grants you the effects of a Super Mushroom at the beginning of every course. Generally not very useful, but it might be okay on tricky stages – you respawn in small form if you’ve already hit a Checkpoint Flag.
  • Add ! Blocks adds additional blocks to levels. Sometimes they contain power-ups and sometimes they make platforming a little easier.
  • Safety Bounce saves you from falling into a bottomless pit, lava, or poison once per fall. As long as you land on solid ground before you next touch a bottomless pit, lava, or poison, this Badge will save you again and again.
  • Rhythm Jump adds a beat to each level, and if you jump in time with the beat you’ll receive extra coins.
  • Sensor goes off when you’re near a 10-Flower Coin or a Wonder Seed. You’ll automatically receive this Badge in World 5.
  • Coin Magnet attracts nearby coins to your location.
  • All Elephant Power causes you to transform into an elephant every time you collect a power-up.
  • All Fire Power causes you to transform into fire mode every time you collect any power-up.
  • All Bubble Power causes you to transform into bubble mode every time you collect any power-up. Even a Super Mushroom!
  • All Drill Power causes you to transform into drill mode every time you collect a power-up.
  • Jet Run forces you to run forward at super speed. After you leave the ground, you can run in midair for a moment and then jump to gain some height.
  • Spring Feet makes you jump over and over again! This Badge kind of does more harm than good. You can’t even place a Standee with this equipped!
  • Invisibility does just that! Make sure to keep track of yourself by holding something like a pot or a Koopa shell.
  • Sound-Off is the hidden secret badge you obtain when you clear the final stage. It replaces all of the game’s sound effects with vocalized versions of them.

There you have it – all 24 Badges in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The final stage is really tricky, so make sure you stock up on tons of lives before you attempt it. You’ll need lightning-fast reflexes to react to some of its challenges.

How’s your Badge progress looking? Do you just have a few, or are you working on getting the last one? Feel free to let us know down below! In the meantime, you can check out the official website for Super Mario Bros. Wonder here.
