Global Esports Part Ways With Its Star Player SkRossi

After a lackluster performance in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 202 3, Global Esports announced “roster rest” – a process to rebuild its Valorant roster from scratch. As a part of this roster reset, Global Esports previously signed former Paper Rex player Benedict “Benkai” Tan, retained its Indian player Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury, signed former Guild Esports’ player Russel “Russ” Mendes, added Gary “blaZek1ng” Dastin to the roster, and signed Finnish player Niko “polvi” Polvinen to their Valorant 2024 roster.

However, at the heart of this overhaul lies the departure of their star player, Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar. The organization’s decision to part ways with SkRossi was unexpected and came as a surprise to many.

In a recent tweet, SkRossi expressed his readiness to explore new opportunities. He announced that he is open to compete across all regions.

However, it’s SkRossi’s heartfelt response in a subsequent tweet that truly caught the community’s attention. In it, he reflected on the challenges faced during the previous season. He acknowledged the stresses and difficulties encountered by the team, which may have contributed to their underwhelming performance. He refrained from sharing his side of the story and added, “The scoreboard is all that matters in the end.” bHe also shared that the time spent with the team was a rollercoaster of highs and lows, which eventually took a toll on his confidence.

SkRossi expressed his desire to learn from his mistakes and emerge as a stronger player, both in-game and in life. He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play at the highest level and work alongside incredibly talented teammates and coaches.

He didn’t forget to thank his organization, teammates, coaches, and Riot Games for the learnings and the memories created during his journey. His final words were reserved for his fans and supporters. In a heartfelt note, he thanked them for standing by him through thick and thin, and for their unwavering support, emphasizing that his journey extends beyond computer games.
