Here’s Everything That Was Shown off at PlayStation’s State of Play

State of Play Oct 2021 (1)

We’ve just watched Sony’s latest State of Play, focusing on third-party games coming to PS4 and PS5 in the coming months.

Missed it? Don’t worry. You can still watch the steam, embedded at the bottom of this article. And we’ve kindly rounded up everything that was shown off; a mixture of brand new games and updates on stuff we’ve seen before. Read on to see what you missed.

  • First up is Deathverse: Let it Die, a multiplayer brawler that boasts “survival is the only rule”. It looks rather surreal, mixing common battle royale tropes with dark humour and over-the-top gameplay. It’s coming to PS4 and PS5 next year.
  • Kowloon Nights is up next with a teased trailer for its next game, OFKIt’s a five-episode series that revolves around a music band of the same game. Converse with characters, flirt, get to know them, and make an interactive music video in every episode. It’s coming to PS4 and PS5 in 2022.
  • Bugsnax is getting a big update. It’s called Isle of Bigsnax and… well, you can probably imagine from the title. Bugsnax have got bigger! They’re now bigsnax! It looks as adorable as you’d expect from Bugsnax. It’ll be a free update to the game in early 2022. Yay for new, free content.
  • Freddy Fazbear is back with Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. Get ready for more animatronic scares, first person survival on 11th December.
  • Death’s Door, previously only available on PC and Xbox, is making its way to PS4. You can read our thoughts about this action-packed adventure here. It’ll be available on 23rd November – though if you pre-order now, you’ll get Titan Souls for free.
  • Kartrider Drift brings fast-paced, colourful racing action to PlayStation. The trailer’s Blondie soundtrack is enough to sell us on it, if we’re perfectly honest. If you like kart racing games, it looks like it should be good fun. It’s free to play, and launching in 2022.
  • King of Fighters XV is coming to PS4 and PS5, with an open beta test starting coming next month. The game is releasing fully on 17th February 2022.
  • First Class Trouble is up next, an online social deduction game. Essentially, it’s a fancier version of Among Us, for want of a better description. Each round, you’ll be assigned a random role, and you’ll need to figure out who you can and can’t trust. Could be fun if you enjoy playing online with others. It’s out very soon: 2nd November on PS4 and PS5, and it’ll be available on PS Plus.
  • Here’s a pretty big surprise: a new Star Ocean game – Star Ocean: The Divine Force. If you’re a JRPG fan, this is one well worth keeping on your radar. It looks epic, flashy and action-packed, and is set to release next year.
  • We got another look at Little Devil Inside, an adventure game first revealed last year. We’re pretty intrigued by this; there’s exploration, survival, conversations with NPCs and… monster killing? Its quirky art style has us won over, though. There’s no release date yet, but it’s coming to both PS4 and PS5.
