Final Fantasy 16 has a whole world of content for you to explore. A lot of it is in smaller areas, but getting around the map in Final Fantasy 16 can still become a chore. That’s where you’ll need to learn how to fast travel in Final Fantasy 16. It’s a fairly simple system to get started with. Given how big of a game this is though, it makes sense if you want a bit more information on where the map is going to fully open up.

While FF 16 isn’t quite open-world, it has some pretty big areas out there. You’ll need to utilise a lot of different ways to get around quicker. You don’t have to be a speedrunner to want to cut down on dull travel time. For some areas, you can stick to using a Chocobo in Final Fantasy 16. However, if you want to move even faster, then it has to be FF 16 fast travel.

Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 16 is pretty simple. You can travel to specific points using travel Obelisks. You’ll need to unlock these before you can actually start zipping around though.

How Does Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 16 Work?

Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 16 works pretty simply. It’s built around unlocking fast travel points on the map through exploration and playing through the main storyline.

Once you can unlock travel Obelisks, you’ll be able to warp to them at any point in the game. You can select the place you want to go, provided you’ve gotten the travel obelisk for that spot, and then move there. You will need to do a little bit of work to unlock the obelisks and get started using fast through though.

When Do You Unlock Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 16?

Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 16 is unlocked fairly early in the story. You’ll get your first look at an obelisk a few hours into the game. Although, given how long Final Fantasy 16 is this is still pretty much the tutorial where you’re learning about combat and everything else.  That’s when FF 16 fast travel starts to pop up, you won’t need to go through the whole Thousand Tomes to understand it.

How to Unlock Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 16

Once you’re done with the tutorials, you’ll have a cutscene talking to the Archduke. They’ll send you out on your first mission which is where you find the first obelisk in your path.

The first Obelisk comes up around a boss fight with Midnight Raven while heading to Lostwing. The FF 16 Fast Travel obelisks is in your path here. It’s a rock with blue gemstones on it. These will flash as you get closer to make sure you don’t miss it, even if you’ve gone with FF 16 performance mode. Once you’ve gotten close, the Obelisk will activate. This adds a new travel obelisk to your map! That’s how you can unlock fast travel in Final Fantasy 16. Getting more of the obelisks can take a bit longer though. 

Get More Obelisks for FF 16 Fast Travel

To get more spots to actually make use of fast travel in Final Fantasy 16, you really only have one option. Keep pushing ahead in the game and exploring the world. This title doesn’t have too many of the obelisks hidden off the beaten path. As you’re playing, you’re likely to unlock them as you go.

One thing you might notice though is that it doesn’t cover the entire map or anything. You’re still going to be on foot or on Chocobo for quite a bit of the game. This is more of a hotspot fast travel rather than allowing you to go to a load of different spots in each unique area. Once you’ve unlocked a good number of obelisks and learnt how to fast travel in Final Fantasy 16 though, you’re able to start getting around much faster than before.

The total number of obelisks hasn’t exactly changed in the FF 16 Day One patch, so we can safely say there will be a decent number of spots you can warp to.

To get around the map quicker, you’ll need to collect quite a few of the Final Fantasy 16 fast travel obelisks. Once done, you can actually use the fast travel in Final Fantasy 16 pretty easily.

• Open up the world map
• Find the fast travel spot you want to go to
• Select fast travel on that spot
