How to get the Shishioji mount in FFXIV

One of the two new mounts added in 6.45 is definitely the harder of the two to get. The Shishioji mount by name alone may be confusing to what it is and where to get it. It’s a long trek, but here’s how to get the Shishioji mount in FFXIV.

The Shishioji Mount- what and where is it?

Shishioji is one of the four final bosses of Mount Rokkon, and ties with Moko for the one I find the most painful to face no matter what the mechanics are. As Mount Rokkon tells us, it is a legendary auspice that when you wake from its stone statue nap, is not eager to see you.

Getting this nightmare fuel snake tailed mount so you can relieve memories of being KOed over and over again is no easy task. You have to venture through Another Mount Rokkon, which is Mount Rokkon but worse. The Shishioji mount has a chance of dropping from the final boss treasure chest. If you don’t have good RNG, you could also just buy it for 100 Shishu coins, which is about 25 runs of the dungeon. Isn’t that fun? To give it credit, it’s at least less effort than getting 100 totems for an EX trial mount.

To exchange for the mount, you must speak to Trisassant in Old Sharlayan, where you exchange for all Variant Dungeon related rewards. Use the Scholar’s Harbor Aetheryte and approach the counter at about (12, 13.3). Select Rokkon Artifact Exchange and navigate to Shishu Coin Exchange. You’re looking for the Shishioji Flute. Exchange and use the item and you can now summon your hellspawn in any mounted area.

That’s about it for how to get the Shishioji mount in FFXIV. Whether it’s worth the effort is up to you.
