With Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s version 2.0 update, players now have a lot more room to be creative in their homes.
Released on Nov. 5, 2021, players can now place accent walls within their homes, move between tight spaces, customize the outside of their homes and so much more.
For those who don’t own the Happy Home Paradise DLC, the player must purchase the Pro Decorating License in the Nook Stop for 2,500 Nook Miles to unlock these features.

On the other hand, if the player has purchased the DLC, the features are automatically unlocked when following the story of the Happy Home Paradise designers.
For example, after the fourth renovation, Niko will teach the player to polish furniture. And after 30 renovations, the player can begin to use their new design knowledge on their home island.
Once the accent wall has been unlocked, whether that’s in the DLC design mode or the main game on the player’s island, it can be accessed within the placing furniture menus.
The player can place an accent wall by hovering over a wallpaper in the design mode and pressing X, the design can then be removed by pressing the button again.
For those who own the DLC and may have purchased the Pro Decorating License before beginning the DLC, Lottie will send a letter to inform the player that they have been refunded the 2,500 miles on her behalf.
