Is Call of Duty Modern Warfare III Worth It?

Call of Duty has had a hold on the FPS gaming market for several years now. Even now the effects of the franchise can be seen sd the franchise has made over 32.68 million U.S. dollars in the last two decades. That’s not to say that the title has never seen failure though with titles such as Call of Duty Vanguard or Infinite Warfare. In terms of Modern Warfare III, there are definitely some mixed feelings towards the title given its recent reviews. So it now begs the question of is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III worth it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s Campaign Is Lackluster

One thing that players should know is that Modern Warfare III’s campaign is lacking overall. It lacks content overall and the story is the generic “take down this terrorist” plot that players have seen time and time again. Not only that, but the campaign itself is only at most four to five hours long. According to a statement made by Sledgehammer Games, Modern Warfare III is actually the shortest development time for a new game. This is primarily the main issue of the campaign’s downfall. For those wanting to play Modern Warfare III for the campaign, you might want to take your money elsewhere.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s Multiplayer Is The Title’s Saving Grace

To say that Modern Warfare III’s Multiplayer mode saved the title is an understatement. Some fans aren’t too happy with the Zombies mode as it heavily resembles an open-world version of DMZ. A majority wanted the classic round-based Zombies that they’ve grown accustomed to. The Multiplayer mode brings back tons of fan-favorite maps such as Terminal that brings out an almost nostalgic feeling for players. In addition to this, features such as slide canceling have also made a return as well. Of course, the mode has some gripes with it like the challenge system to unlock weapons and gear, but that aside it can prove to be an overall fun experience. The question most players interested in picking up Modern Warfare III have to ask themselves is “What mode am I going to play?”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Is The Lowest Socred Call of Duty Game

Out of all of the games in the franchise, Modern Warfare III is the lowest-rated Call of Duty game. As previously stated, this is probably due to the game being created in such a short and rushed time span. The game scored a 53 on Metacritic with Modern Warfare II scoring a 75 next to it.

Is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Worth It?

Call of Duty is essentially the NBA 2K version of FPSs. Regardless of what happens, it’s more than likely that players are going to buy it every single year despite fan complaints. What players need to do is decide what they want Call of Duty for. Is it for the Campaign? Zombies? Multiplayer? Are they going to play with friends? All of these factors can determine if you need it or not. So is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III worth it? If it’s urgent for you to play it then sure pay the $70+ and pick it up. If it can wait, then be patient for a sale to roll around. If neither options apply to you then the answer is simple.
