Is F1 Manager 2022 similar to Football Manager?

With F1 Manager 2022 set to be the first Formula 1-licensed manager game released since 2000, it is perhaps no surprise that many are wondering whether or not it will be similar to one of the longtime, most prominent series in the sports management simulation genre today. Here’s a breakdown of whether or not F1 Manager 2022 is similar to Football Manager.

Ultimately, we would say that the comparison between the two is about as straightforward as most would expect. If you’re a fan of sports management simulation games, F1 Manager 2022 should appeal to you, especially if you also enjoy Formula 1 racing.

Spearheaded by the efforts of Frontier Developments, F1 Manager 2022 is said to offer a more detailed career experience in comparison to the My Team Career mode offered in F1 22.

F1 Manager 2022 invites players to become the Team Principal of an F1 team and steer them to glory through the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship.

Whether they’re taking over a top team and instantly competing for race wins, or guiding an unproven up the grid, players can also support and develop their contracted drivers, or even scout and hire drivers from the official F1, F2 and F3 line-ups.

Players will be able to handle their F1 teams’ day-to-day operations, overseeing long-term strategies and making split-second decisions to guide their crews to victory. On top of facilitating sponsorships, regulation changes and more, players must then focus on race weekends, creating and executing their ideal strategies for success.

F1 Manager 2022 is set to release for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on Aug. 30, 2022. Those who pre-order the game digitally will have early access to the game starting on Aug. 25.
