Jason McCourty Announces Retirement from NFL

Defensive back Jason McCourty has officially announced his retirement from the NFL. He played in the league with four different teams over 13 seasons. McCourty also got to play with his twin brother Devin for a few seasons with the Patriots.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Friday afternoon.

After being drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Rutgers by the Titans, he spent eight seasons in Nashville. He spent one season with the Browns in 2017, then joined his twin brother (as mentioned earlier) with the Patriots. The McCourty brothers went on to win Super Bowl 53 during his time there. He ended his career after just one year with the Dolphins.

Over his 13-year career, McCourty racked up 744 tackles, 18 interceptions, nine forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and three defensive touchdowns. He retires without any Pro Bowl or First or Second Team All-Pro nominations.
