There’s one area that’s always a place for speculation though, Fortnite skins. We the reveal of the Khaby Lame Fortnite skin we’ve learnt a bit more about the upcoming season and one of the latest “icons” that’s coming to the game. This looks like it’s going to be one of the major new skins for the coming season.

After a few problems in C4 S3, Epic has stepped up the marketing for the latest season. They’ve been releasing images of upcoming content nearly every day in the lead up to the new season’s release. Most recently, this has been the release of images of some upcoming skins that coming to Fortnite. Epic has shown off a few standard Battle Pass skins, but then they tweeted out an image that was a bit more interesting.

Fans soon recognised the mystery face behind this upcoming skin, Khaby Lame. Apparently, this is a teaser for an upcoming collaboration with the TikToker. Fortnite is no stranger to having real-world figures grace its item shop. This particular skin is a bit more likely to be a part of the Battle Pass though. Epic is teasing this new skin alongside their other standard Battle Pass characters. This means we can probably expect this TikTok skin to be part of the main C4 S4 Battle Pass, available to everyone who uses the premium tier of the game!

When is the Fortnite Khaby Lame Skin Release Date?

The Fortnite Khaby Lame skin so far doesn’t have an official release date, but there are only two possibilities. Since Epic is teasing this with the rest of the Battle Pass’s general theme, it’s definitely linked. This means that it could be coming when we get the first batch of patch notes for the brand-new season. Essentially, August 25 2023. That’s one possible release date.

However, there is another possibility. Often, crossover skins are put in the bonus skin section of the Battle Pass. While recently we got Purradise Meowscles in Fortnite instead as the bonus skin, this has been a general pattern for quite a few seasons now. It’s possible that the Khaby Lame Fortnite skin is actually going to be our bonus or secret skin for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4!

In this case, it would have a later release date. The bonus skins typically unlock at about the halfway point of the season. Once most players have gotten to grips with the new content and Epic can start throwing in some extra stretch quests for those who have blown through most of the tiers already. In this case, we could probably expect to see the full Khaby Lane Fortnite skin release date in later September or early October.

Since we don’t know how long the next season will be, it’s hard to say. However, we’ll definitely get a full release date revealed within the coming week as we see what’s actually dropping in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.

Is the Khaby Lame Fortnite Skin Part of the Icon Series?

The Fortnite Khaby Lame skin isn’t the first time they’ve thrown a real-world person in with their cosmetics. Epic actually already has an entire series of these skins, most fans probably know them, the Icon Series. Launching with streamers like Ninja and artists who did concerts in Fortnite, it’s since expanded to include sports stars and generally everyone Epic wants to honor with their own in-game avatar. The Khaby Lame skin really does feel like a natural fit for the Icon Series.

To date, whenever Epic has added a real-world person to the game, they’ve used this Series. It’s become a big collection but one that’s still quite selective. Khaby Lame would be the first Tik Toker to make it into the game as a whole though! It isn’t just for streamers, it’s anyone who is a real person. Although, they’ve never made an icon Series skin accessible through the Battle Pass before.

If the Fortnite Khaby Lame skin is a Battle Pass inclusion, then this might mean he’s not part of the Icon Series! Alternatively, it could mean that the Icon Series is now fair game to be included in the Battle Pass, which is exciting given we’ve never seen this before! Either way, this skin looks to be breaking new ground for Fortnite skins. For a game with thousands of different outfits, it’s impressive that we’re still getting surprised by them.
