League of Legends K’Sante Guide

League of Legends K’Sante Guide

League of Legends K’Sante Guide let’s you in on the secrets of the Pride of Nazumah, one of latest champions of the game.

League of Legends is home to many interesting and unique champions, with the latest toplaner of the game K’Sante being among the most unique of them all. The Pride of Nazumah is one of the few champions that can change their stance, turning from one type of hero to another, and he is the only one that can become an assassin for a short while even though he is a tank for most of the matches. In this guide, we’ll look at the abilities, items and general tops for K’Sante so you can become a menace on the Rift!

K’Sante Abilities

K’Sante’s abilities provide fairly good damage and dueling potential for a tank with excellent mobility alongside some really unique mechanics such as becoming Unstoppable and carrying your opponent to the other side of a wall or terrain piece – mastering them is the first step of mastering the Warrior!

Passive – Dauntless Instinct

K’Sante’s abilities mark enemies, making his next Attack against marked enemies deal extra damage, which is converted to True Damage while he is in his All Out (R) form.

Q – Ntofo Strikes

K’Sante slams with his weapons, dealing damage and slowing any enemies hit. He also gains a stack, and when he has three stacks, his Q launches a shockwave which knocks enemies back towards him, stunning them for a brief period.

W – Path Maker

K’Sante can channel his ability, becoming immune to Crowd Control while he is charging – which also increases this abilities range, stun duration and damage. Recasting Path Maker lets K’Sante dash, damaging all enemies and pushing them in the direction of the ability, stunning them briefly.

E – Footwork

K’Sante dashes, gaining a shield. If he dashes to an ally, he can dash twice as far and can go over walls. This ability is also and auto Attack reset, which can be used for offensive purposes.

R – All Out

K’Sante breaks his weapons, singling out an enemy, carrying them for a short distance or over a wall if the target is near one. After dealing damage – which is increased if he pushes his target over a wall – K’Sante goes All Out, getting less health and defensive stats, but increased Damage and Omnivamp. He also alters his basic abilities:

  • His Passive marks deal True Damage
  • His Q gets decreased cooldown
  • His W has a faster charge time and extra damage, but doesn’t push enemies back, nor does it stun them
  • His E gets the increased range and can go over walls even if K’Sante is not targeting an ally with it.

K’Sante Runes and Summoner Spells

K’Sante is a true toplane tank, but he has seen some play as a flex pick in the midlane from the likes of Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeong and Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther. For Runes, he makes great use of Grasp of the Undying, which synergizes well with his Passive, and picking resolve gives him access to Runes such as Shield Bash or Demolish, Second Wind and Unflinching, which greatly improves his survivability. For your secondary page, take Precision for Triumph and Legend: Tenacity to become an unstoppable force. As for fragments, K’Sante like attack speed so he can proc his Passive Marks a bit easier, while picking up a Health and a matchup-specific (so Armour into AD opponents and MR into AP ones) helps your laning phase.

K'Sante Runes

If you decide to pick him up for the midlane – which is very fun, but not very advisable at the moment due to Riot Games nerfing him as he was a menace in proplay – your runepage can be the same, expect for your keystone, as Aftershock will prove useful against opponents who tend to keep their distance. This is true for the toplane into ranged champions as well.

For Summoner Spells, Teleport is a must, no matter where you play K’Sante. He is a playmaker, so joining your team to help them win fights is his main focus. For the other Spell, I swear by Flash as it lets K’Sante make even more explosive plays, Flashing behind enemy carries to bring them into the midst of your own team with All Out. Ghost is great for trading and chasing, but it can be reacted to, and it was nerfed recently, so I wouldn’t recommend it at the time of writing.

K’Sante Build

While K’Sante can turn into an assassin, you’ll spend most of your time as a tank if you decide to play him, so he benefits from tank items such as Frostfire Gauntlet and Gargoyle’s Stoneplate. Keep in mind that he always wants to get items that give defensive stats other than Health, as Armour and Magic Resist boosts the stats he gains from All Out, while also increasing the damage of his abilities while he is in Ultimate form – so the more defenses you have, the more damage you will deal.

For starters, get a Doran’s Shield or a Corrupting Potion, but only into matchups that you can comfortably win to boost your chances even higher with the extra damage the Pot provides. For your Mythic, Frostfire Gauntlet is the most synergistic with your passive and Grasp of the Undying, but against heavy AP compositions, Jak’Sho the Protean can deal wonders, making you almost impossible to burst down. After choosing appropriate shoewar (but always a tanky one, so Plated Steelcaps or Mercury Treads), Sunfire Aegis will help you push out sidelanes to put pressure on the enemy team. Gargoyle’s Stoneplate is also great for the Pride of Nazumah, as the item provides both Armour and MR and a hefty shield which can save you when your in All Out form and much less tankier than normally.

Afterwards, it’s all situational tank items: Abyssal Mask became a staple for this class against AP threats, but if it’s not enough, Force of Nature is good as well. Against heavy healing comps, Thornmail is a must, and if the enemy team has multiple AD damage dealers, Randuin’s Omen and Frozen Heart are great tools to have more time in the frontline before you’re taken down or forced to retreat.

K’Sante Tips

K’Sante has a fairly simple kit at first glance, but the Pride of Nazumah has some depth, and his trick can mean the difference between a kill or you dying.

Firstly, your E is an auto Attack reset, which lets you proc your Passive, Grasp of the Undying and Frostfire Gauntlet a bit easier, while also helping you take down turrets faster with Demolish and the extra auto.

K’Sante’s Q3, the knockback part of Ntofo Strikes is a bit hard to land if your opponent is far away, as the launched shockwave travels fairly slow. You can help this by using E or W before launching your Q, which can surprise your opponents. You can elevate this by using your E on an allied minion or champion, which gives extra range for your dash even without your ult.

Turrets are your best friends! You can chain your Q3, your W push and your R knockback, you can force your opponents to travel huge distances right under your turrets in the laning phase or if you and your teammates teamfight around a structure.

Your R resets your W, so don’t be scared to go all out before your go All Out! Use every spell before ulting, as your R decreases the cooldowns.

As your ultimate decreases your Max Health to 55% of your non-ult health, try to use your ult after you brawled a bit so you effectively don’t deal 45% of your Health as damage to yourself while simultaneously becoming less tanky.

Your W charges up quite fast, but it can be charged beyond it’s full bar – don’t forget that it gives damage reduction and the Unstoppable status effect which makes you immune to CC, so if there are Crowd Control effects inbound, stay in Path Maker form!

Sometimes putting a key target outside a fight is much better then throwing them inside your team with All Out – try to pick your targets wisely!

K’Sante is one of the most fun Tanks in League of Legends, and even after the nerfs, he can still be a great counter for other tanks thanks to his mobility and % based damage. While he has a relatively high skill ceiling, he is easy to pick up, and if you keep the aforementioned tips in mind, you’ll get the hang of him in no time!
