LEC 2024 Spring Regular Season Week 2 Preview: Can Rogue Rise from the Ashes?

The next round is coming around this weekend, get to know the matchups in the LEC 2024 Spring Regular Season Week 2 Preview.

The 2024 LEC Spring Split began last week, with the 10 best teams starting their journey towards the second Playoffs of the year. With a new meta and new members in some teams, this split is looking like one of the most exciting yet.

After the first week, only G2 Esports remain undefeated, with some teams doing a bit worse than anticipated. There’s also just one team with an 0-3 record, Rogue, but they still have 2 weeks to bounce back from this slump.

Rogue is the only team without a win, but they can stop their losing streak this round. They will face off against Karmine Corp, who were the other team that was eliminated last split alongside them, as well as MAD Lions KOI, who had a worse start than anyone could’ve thought. Still, Rogue will need to change up their game as they have became predictable – that’s where Finn should come in, but so far, the Swede didn’t whip out any pocket picks. Hopefully that changes this week, and Rogue can show some lifesigns.

Team BDS had an 0-2 record after the first 2 days. That in itself wouldn’t be an issue, but they looked a lot worse than in Winter, especially in the toplane. They face SK Gaming, GIANTX and Team Heretics, which could net them a few points in Week 2.

Karmine Corp has started much better than in Winter as they managed to win a game. As they face Rogue on Saturday, another win is in the cards for them. They look a lot better than in Winter with Bo working together with Saken and Cabochard, so KC might even make it to 3 wins this split – or be the biggest surprise of Spring!

Team Heretics is doing a lot better with the benching of Perkz and Kaiser. Trymbi is the shotcaller that the team needed while rookie Zwyroo slotted in great with the squad. Last round they even managed to defeat Fnatic with the lead of Flakked – but this weekend, they face G2, so their momentum might come to a halt.

Team Vitality will face 2 teams that they just NEED to beat if they want to return to the ranks of the contenders. While their match shouldn’t be that hard against Rogue, MAD Lions KOI and Fnatic could give them some trouble.

ESTNN’s Match of the Week: Fnatic vs G2 Esports

While there will be a number of exciting matches in the coming days, the LEC’s El Clásico is happening on Sunday. G2 Esports will face off against Fnatic on March 17th 21:00 CET, marking the next chapter in Europe’s biggest rivalry.

So far, Fnatic hasn’t been able to beat G2 this year. However, Noah and co. looked much better last Saturday and Sunday. Even though they faced Rogue and Karmine Corp, who are regarded as weaker squads, FNC’s botlane looked decent. This was something that they lacked in Winter, and was the biggest cause of their absence in the Winter Grand Finals.

But even if Fnatic is doing better than before, G2 Esports proved to be the best yet again. They defeated Team BDS and MAD Lions KOI, as well as Karmine Corp in Week 1. While their early game is still a bit week as they didn’t score any first towers and only got 1 first blood, their teamfighting is leagues above the rest of the LEC. They also have a number of pocket picks such as Kog’Maw for Hans sama and Volibear for BrokenBlade.

Fnatic has a fighting chance of course, but they are not the favorites in this bout. G2 Esports is looking to dominate the field again – the only question is will anyone be able to beat them?
