LEC Power Rankings: 2022 Summer Split Week 4

The LEC 2022 season started with G2 surprising everyone and rising to the top much earlier than anticipated. Now, everyone is playing catchup. Some teams made moves while others stayed put. Week 3 saw a resurgence from a few teams and a clear bottom tier come about. Here are the LEC 2022 Summer Split Week 4 Power Rankings.

10. BDS (1-6)

A win over G2 last week made it seem like this team was on their way to figuring it out. That was not the case. They went on to have an abysmal Week 3 of the Split combining for just six kill over both games. What is worse is that one of the games was against an underperforming Misfits team. The first year for Team BDS in the LEC has been a forgettable one thus far. And for it, they are last in this week’s LEC Power Rankings.

9. SK (1-6)

At least the games are kind of competitive. But is that really enough for SK Gaming? They continue to bring back some of the same players and expect different results. For JNX and Gilius in particular this looks to be the end of the line as both continue to struggle mightily. Not having Jezu certainly didn’t help but that was not the reason for this week’s 0-2.

8. AST (3-4)

They had a chance to prove that they could climb higher this weekend but instead, they went 0-2. There is no doubt that Astralis are much better than last split. Sadly, that still may not be enough to help them reach the playoffs. With teams like Vitality and Misfits finding their form in Week 3, Astralis are going to have to win some games the odds say they should lose. Otherwise, they may just be better than SK and BDS, which is not saying much.

7. VIT (4-3)

The saying goes, “A win is a win” and that is what Vitality need right now. A decent but not overly convincing 2-0 weekend helps to give this team confidence. Something that Vitality desperately needed heading into the break. With a team this stacked, at least in most positions, Vitality need to use this time well. If they want a chance at being called a super team again, this 2-0 weekend needs to be the start of a long winning streak.

6. MSF (4-3)

Two nice wins where Vetheo didn’t have to do all of the work? This is exactly what Misfits were hoping for. The win over BDS was whatever, but taking down what looked to be an extremely strong MAD team is huge for this team. Now if Neon and Mersa can continue to find leads and Shlatans pathing brings consistent results then Misfits could be a scary team. They still need to do a bit more to prove it, but this weekend certainly could go a long way towards that.

5. G2 (4-3)

To say it was a rough weekend for G2 would be an understatement. They had a chance to cement themselves as the kings of the castle and instead, they fell into the moat. The MAD game was kind of close but the Fnatic game was a stomp. This break may be better for G2 than any other team in the LEC as it is surely a needed one. This team hasn’t really stopped since the beginning of the year and a recharged G2 is a frightening one for the rest of the LEC.

4. MAD (4-3)

Yes, they lost to Misfits, but MAD still look extremely strong. Especially with how they took it to G2 who were caught with their pants down in both of their games. Armut and UNFORGIVEN playing well will almost always mean good things for the Lions. With Nisqy continuing to make plays and Kaiser being the best support in Europe, MAD are a fun and dangerous opponent.

3. XL (5-2)

Losing a close one to Rogue is really not something that XL should worry about too much. They are looking great this Split and picked up right where they left off with a drubbing against BDS. Markoon, Nukeduck and Patrik all could be considered for MVP right now. They are quick to adapt and seemingly able to counter nearly anything that is picked against them.

2. RGE (5-2)

Two huge games from Larssen and Rogue are back in the hunt for being one of the best teams in the LEC. It is a tight race but the kings of the regular season were not looking like themselves. At least through the first two weeks that is. Cooling down a scorching hot Excel team and mostly taking care of business against SK has Rogue in a great spot. Hopefully, they do not lose their momentum during the break.

1. FNC (5-2)

Fnatic are riding on the backs of Razork and Upset right back to the top. They reminded everyone just how much of a punch they can pack. The G2 game was specifically a thing of beauty as G2 had been looking like far and away the best team in the league. The LEC is going to be a very close one and each game over top-tier opponents matters. Fnatic need to have Humanoid find a bit more consistency and they should be well on their way to finishing in the top three by the end of the regular season.
