Eric Stokes Likely Out for Season After Injury

Green Bay Packers cornerback Eric Stokes is likely out for the rest of the 2022-2023 season after suffering an injury in Week 9. He injured his ankle and his foot in the team’s fifth straight loss and was removed from the field only to return in a boot.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.

Stokes was chosen in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 29th overall selection out of Georgia. During his time in college, he was named to the 2019 Second Team All-SEC and the 2020 First Team All-SEC. He was chosen for his lightning-quick speed shown at the combine.

During his freshman season, Stokes played in 16 games (14 starts), grabbed one interception, deflected 14 passes and grabbed 55 combined tackles. In nine games this season, Stokes has zero interceptions and only 26 tackles.
