The Berserker is a powerful damage-dealing class in Lost Ark. Many players don’t struggle in Chaos Dungeons due to their vast arsenal of high damaging abilities. In fact, it was the go-to class that bots would use to exploit the game! But don’t let other players’ opinions on the class get you down. It’s not brain-dead, there’s still a little bit of complexity to it, and besides, it’s really fun to hack and slash your enemies away! So if you’re still looking to optimize your Chaos Dungeon experience we’ve got a fun build that you may not have seen before.
It’s not often mentioned in other content, however, it is a must-have in Chaos Dungeons. Preemptive Strike Combat Engraving is one of the top alternatives to consider when maximizing damage output to any enemy other than Boss-type monsters. (A more detailed explanation can be found here) We’ve tested all of the skills and tripods in order to make this guide, so please have a look, test it out, and decide for yourself.
Skills To Use In Chaos Dungeons As A Berserker
In the first zone, be sure to activate your Identity skill with the Mayhem engraving to benefit from the attack and movement speed buff. Then, simply move around to avoid taking damage while waiting for the enemies to spawn and cluster. You can use any skill in this zone as nearly all skills in this build will kill normal enemies in one hit.
In the second zone, gather the Named enemies and use Sword Strom to kill 2 or 3 of them. This should nearly reset all your cooldowns to use again for the next wave of Named enemies. Clean up the Normal monsters with Strike Wave or any other skills. Using Whirlwind with the Bleed Rune is highly effective to damage normal enemies along the way to the next Named enemies. Then, when the Named enemies appear again, do it all again.
Finally, use either of the Awakening Skills that you have available to kill the Challenge–type enemy at the end of this zone.
Here’s a table detailing which Berserker skills to choose as well as a brief description of the purpose of that skill. The skills below are sorted by which target they perform well against. (in order of lowest to highest HP: Normal, Named, Challenge, Boss).

Engravings Priority For Chaos Dungeons
For the Berserker, here are the Engravings you can prioritize for Chaos Dungeons using the Preemptive Strike build:
- #1: Preemptive Strike
- Guaranteed Crit on challenge type or lower monsters with full HP.
- #2: Mayhem
- Identity Skill improves attack speed and movement speed. Some skills benefit from the lower HP and this engraving has good synergy with the Master’s Tenacity engraving.
- #3: Keen Blunt Weapon
- Increase Crit Damage; a chance for reduced damage.
Here are the engravings that are supplementary to the Berserker class in general.
- Raid Captain
- Increase Damage based on Movement Speed
- Master’s Tenacity
- Increases damage while below 50% HP. (For use with the Mayhem class engraving)
- Master of Ambush
- Increased Back Attack damage
- Super Charge
- Improves charge-type skills damage and speed
- Grudge*
- Increase Damage given and received (*only advisable at Level 3)
- Cursed Doll*
- Increase Damage given and reduced healing received (*only advisable at Level 3)
Berserker Gem Priority In Chaos Dungeons
Most skills can eliminate all the normal monsters in one hit so damage is not much of a concern. As most of the skills in this build have long cooldowns, utilizing cooldown gems can be very advantageous. Be sure to equip these gems for the fastest Chaos Dungeon:
- #1: Strike Wave – Damage
- #2: Strike Wave – Cooldown
- #3: Sword Strom – Damage
- #4: Sword Strom – Cooldown
- #5: Finish Strike – Damage
- #6: Finish Strike – Cooldown
- #7: Red Dust – Cooldown
- #8: Power Break – Cooldown
- #9: Diving Slash – Cooldown
- #10: Aura Blade – Cooldown
- #11: Whirlwind – Cooldown
Stat Allocation
Stat allocation comes from the Accessories (Necklace, Earring, and Rings). It can be very expensive to have a different set of Accessories for Chaos Dungeons so you should choose those stats based on the class engraving you’ve chosen to play.
- For the Mayhem Class Engraving, the Stat Priority should focus on Crit and/or Swiftness.
- For the Berserker’s Technique Class Engraving, the Stat Priority should focus on Crit and Specialization.
Tripod Skill Tree Effects
At Transfer Skill Tree NPC, you should transfer tripod skill tree effects from looted gear to your equipped gear. (don’t forget to save them in the Tripod inventory tab too for multiple builds!) Note that not every Tripod can be leveled up so here are the Tripods that can be affected by Skill Tree Effects that are used in this Chaos Dungeon build:
- Whirlwind: Cracked Blade, Vacuum Slash
- Aura Blade: Quick Prep, Destruction
- Diving Slash: Quick Prep, Power Slash
- Power Break: Nimble Movement, Whirlpool
- Red Dust: Nimble Movement, Red Wave
- Finish Strike: Enhanced Strike, Weak Point Detection, Shockwave
