Mac Jones Suffers High Ankle Sprain

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has suffered an ankle injury. In Week 3’s loss against the Ravens, Jones went down in the fourth quarter, seemingly in extreme pain. Initial tests revealed a high ankle sprain, that the team is hopeful will not require surgery.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.

Jones was taken in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, with the 15th overall selection. During his college career at Alabama, he won two College Football Playoffs Championships in 2017 and 2020. He earned a Pro Bowl nod during his first season.

In his rookie season, Jones played and started in all 17 games. He managed to throw for 3,801 yards, 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions on 352 completions. In three games so far this season, the Patriots are 1-2 and he’s thrown for two touchdowns and five interceptions.
