MaxPax doubles, GuMiho wins KR

The ESL Open Cups were heavily affected by Gamers8 for the second straight week, with many of the top cup players occupied with travel back to their home countries.

(Wiki)GuMiho took advantage of the situation on the Korean server, defeating Nice, RagnaroK, and Astrea on his way to becoming the weekly champion.

The thinned field allowed for some surprising semifinalists on the European server, with YoungYakov, Harstem, and MaNa all making it to the final four. However, at the end of the day, it was still online powerhouse (Wiki)MaxPax who won the cup.

(Wiki)MaxPax showed exactly why he’s the beast of Battle.net by winning the American server cup as well, this time not even dropping a single map. Wayne (formerly known as Rattata and Vanya) was the co-star of the cup, defeating trigger and GuMiho to make an unexpected finals appearance.

In non-ESL weeklies, (Wiki)GuMiho won Korean Starleague #22 to complete a pseudo-double of his own. This cup was also affected by Gamers8, and GuMiho’s final three opponents were actually the same as in the ESL Korean server cup (Nice, RagnaroK, Astrea), just in a different order.
