Miami Dolphins Acquire Bradley Chubb in Trade With Denver Broncos

The Miami Dolphins have acquired edge rusher Bradley Chubb and a 2023 fifth-round pick from the Denver Broncos for a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 fourth-round pick and running back Chase Edmonds. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the details of the deal.

Chubb, 26, is a one-time Pro Bowler with 26 career sacks. This season, Chubb has 5.5 sacks and four tackles for loss. He is in the last year of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

The Dolphins initially had two first-round picks, one of which they acquired from 49ers, which was included in this deal. Their other first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft was forfeited due to tampering. The trade indicates the Dolphins want to win this season.

Denver has not played up to expectations this season and are 3-5. With the trading of Chubb, Denver may be trying to reload for next season, as they got the first round pick as part of the deal. The Broncos also received Chase Edmonds, who wasn’t used much by the Dolphins, but will help the Broncos amid their injury issues at the running back position.
