MOUZ NXT secure fourth consecutive WePlay Academy League title

MOUZ NXT have been crowned champions in the fourth season of the WePlay Academy League following a run that saw the Polish-Israeli-Finnish mixture complete an undefeated run through the playoffs’ lower bracket and beat BIG Academy in the grand final.

With four titles in four seasons, the core of Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, Hubert “szejn” Światły, and Dorian “xertioN” Berman remains the team to beat on the junior level despite having made multiple changes over the course of the last couple of editions of the competition.

mhL led the way for MOUZ NXT with great playoffs performances

Going into this season, MOUZ NXT had brought in 15-year-old Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo to replace Jon “JDC” de Castro after the German was promoted to the main roster, and they looked as good as ever.

The team lost just two maps in the group stage and two in the playoffs, having dropped to the lower bracket immediately on the back of a loss to FURIA Academy in the first round, before going on an unbeaten run from there on, taking down fnatic Rising, the Brazilians in a rematch, and BIG Academy in the title decider, all in 2-0 series.

xertioN was once again key to the run, putting up a 1.23 rating across 20 maps, but it was the AWPer, Miłosz “mhL” Knasiak, who finished the event as MOUZ’s highest-rated player at 1.26 and the highest overall in the playoffs with a 1.32 rating in eight maps. Jimpphat put in a solid debut in the league with a consistent display, averaging a 1.03 rating in the tournament.
