NASCAR Odds and Betting: Dixie Vodka 400

Last Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series was in Las Vegas for the South Point 400, and Joey Logano became the first driver to clinch a spot in the Championship 4. He used a late pit stop to get fresh tires and roared through the field, taking the lead from Ross Chastain with three laps remaining and beating him by 0.817 seconds. Chastain had led 68 of the 267 laps that day, but it ended up going for naught. Of the eight drivers who still have a chance at the title, five of them led the race at some point, and four ended up in the top five. Kyle Busch, who is out of the playoff hunt, finished third, but Chase Briscoe and Denny Hamlin, both still in contention, finished out the top five. Hamlin had started in 31st but ran a terrific race to get close at the end. Let’s take a look at the sports betting odds for each driver to win this week’s race – the Dixie Vodka 400, set for Sunday at 2:30 pm Eastern time, from Homestead-Miami Speedway – as well as our wager card suggestions.

Kyle Larson came in fourth at Homestead in 2021, and the car he’s riding in this time around is significantly more aggressive. This time of year, aggressiveness pays off, and Larson offers a lot of comparative value.

Tyler Reddick is at the top of the odds list because he races all out at Homestead. He also likes to ride the wall, though, which makes this an extremely risky proposition. With high risk can come high reward, but the odds don’t offer enough value.

Kyle Busch also likes to get on the fast groove that runs along the wall at Homestead, but he is not one of the elite wall drivers in this field. He did extremely well here between 2015 and 2019, but that last race was three years ago.

Martin Truex Jr is racing just for the win, to get into the Championship 4, and the Toyota has been a solid car this season. Combine those two factors, and you have an intriguing pick.

Kevin Harvick likes to stay off the wall, and that can pay off as well. In seven of the last eight races at Homestead, he has picked up top-five finishes.

William Byron is the defending champion here, and his intermediate track racing has been terrific recently.

Denny Hamlin races well at tracks that favor aggressive drivers. He won the 2021 Southern 500 and was the runner-up this year (at Darlington). Homestead has a fast lane on the wall, just like Darlington, and Hamlin is also racing to win.

Ross Chastain does not have a lot of history at Homestead – and he has not made a deep playoff run in the Cup Series. How will he deal with the pressure?

Joey Logano won the low downforce race at Darlington in the spring, and in 2018, the last time Homestead hosted a low downforce race, he won as well. This week is a low downforce race.
