NFL Quarterbacks Betting Odds: Rivalries for Week 11

We had some surprises in Week 10 of the 2022 NFL regular season. The 8-0 Philadelphia Eagles lost on Monday Night Football to a woeful Washington Commanders team led by backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke. However, a commitment to the running game and three takeaways helped Washington stay close and take a late lead, and now there are no unbeatens left in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills’ record in one-score games dating back to the start of the 2021 season is a dreadful 2-9. They blew a 14-3 lead in New York to lose to the Jets by three in Week 9, and they blew a 27-10 lead at home to lose to Minnesota by three in overtime this past Sunday. That’s not going to do well under the klieg lights of playoff pressure. Looking to Week 11, let’s break down each quarterback matchup as you consider your NFL betting picks.

Tennessee Titans (+3) at Green Bay Packers (O/U 41.5)

Aaron Rodgers looked ready to hang up his cleats after only leading his team to nine points in a loss in Detroit. As so often happens, though, the Dallas Cowboys provided another team with a chance at redemption, with Rodgers leading the Pack back from a 28-14 deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to win in overtime. Ryan Tannehill had a terrific flea-flicker bomb for the Titans in a win over Denver last week, but the Titans live and die with the running game.

Carolina Panthers (+13) at Baltimore Ravens (43)

Baker Mayfield will start at quarterback due to the injury to P.J. Walker, and Sam Darnold will serve as the backup. Without an elite tailback and without draft-level talent at wide receiver, it’s hard to see the Panthers doing much to dent the Baltimore D. Lamar Jackson should be able to find room to run and find receivers down the field.

 

Chicago Bears (+3) at Atlanta Falcons (50)

Justin Fields had another 100-yard rushing day, picking up 147 yards on the ground. However, the Bears’ defense let another one get away as the Lions won, 31-30. Atlanta’s Marcus Mariota is well-rested after having played last Thursday, but teams are figuring out his limitations as a passer and loading the box.

 

Detroit Lions (+3) at Chicago Bears (48.5)

Justin Fields set a record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a regular-season game last week against Miami – but the Bears’ defense got shredded by Tua Tagovailoa. Jared Goff has a hard time sustaining scoring drives, but will that matter against this Chicago defense?

 

Cleveland Browns (+9.5) at Buffalo Bills (47)

Is Josh Allen’s elbow injured? He had some brutal interceptions last week, but he also made some huge throws. Either way, this choking act in the fourth quarter is getting old. Jacoby Brissett is still driving the bus in Cleveland while Deshaun Watson finishes out his suspension, but will the Bills have the collective will to stop a pounding ground game?

 

Detroit Lions (+3) at N.Y. Giants (46.5)

Daniel Jones had a solid game in the Giants’ win last week, but Jared Goff also lit up the board for the Lions against Chicago. I’m not sure Goff can do the same thing against the Giants’ defense, though.

 

N.Y. Jets (+3) at New England Patriots (38.5)

The Pats had the bye week to get Mac Jones ready for this game, but his turnover numbers are too high this season. Can Zach Wilson take advantage and lead his team to a win in Foxboro?

 

Philadelphia Eagles (NL) at Indianapolis Colts (OFF)

We don’t know who the Colts will roll out at quarterback yet, but Matt Ryan got the start in Jeff Saturday’s coaching debut and led the Colts to a win. The Eagles will have Jalen Hurts, who should be ready for some revenge after those two fumbles helped Washington get the upset win.

 

L.A. Rams (NL) at New Orleans Saints (OFF)

We also don’t know if Matthew Stafford will be back for the Rams yet. John Wolford was not very good at all against Arizona last week. However, Andy Dalton could not lead the Saints to a win over Pittsburgh either.

 

Washington Commanders (NL) at Houston Texans (OFF)

Washington might give Taylor Heinicke another week as the starting quarterback (and they should, after he led them to victory in Philadelphia), but we might also see Carson Wentz, who is reportedly back from injury. Houston, of course, has Davis Mills, and we may never know how good he is, because the Texans don’t invest in talent right now.

 

Las Vegas Raiders (+2.5) at Denver Broncos (41.5)

Derek Carr can still put up good numbers, but Josh McDaniels’ offense has largely ground to a halt. Denver got 286 yards out of Russell Wilson last week but could only manage 10 points.

 

Dallas Cowboys (-1) at Minnesota Vikings (47.5)

Dak Prescott has a hard time completing passes down the field in clutch situations. Give him a lead, and he will cruise, but when things get rough, he has a tough time. Kirk Cousins just pulled off another terrific comeback, this time in Buffalo.

 

Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (41.5)

Joe Burrow is an elite quarterback, even though the Bengals have struggled to find consistency this season. Kenny Pickett continues to develop as an interesting signal caller of the future.

 

Kansas City Chiefs (-7) at L.A. Chargers (50)

Justin Herbert continues to impress with his ability to put balls in tight windows. However, he could not lead his team to any points in the second half in San Francisco. Patrick Mahomes, meanwhile, stacked up another four touchdown passes last week.
