Oddin.gg Acquires License To Move Into Ontario Betting Market
One of the foremost names in provision of esports betting services, Oddin.gg has acquired a license that will allow them to offer its esports products in the Canadian province of Ontario.
The news comes just a couple of months after Oddin.gg announced a successful series A round of financing, which helped raise $4.5m for the company to assist with its rapid expansion into markets around the world.
That additional revenue has allowed the company to continue what it referred to as its “ongoing business momentum’, thus allowing it to now start offering its wide range of services to esports betting sites in Ontario.
Risk Management
Oddin.gg has its roots in Europe and its core business focuses on the provision of esports betting odds feeds, risk management to clients from both the sports and esports betting industries, intelligent AI systems as well as iFrame solutions.
The well-respected company has been in the news several times of late as they have continued their rapid growth within the industry by becoming the official partner for a number of esports betting providers.
Indeed, it was only recently that Oddin.gg partnered with Loot.bet and before that the company had also agreed to provide its services to the likes of EEG, Betway and Duelbits.
Perhaps most impressively, when announcing the deal wit Loot.bet, Oddin.gg revealed that they had not lost a single partnership deal that they had signed up with, a clear indication of how strongly their model is performing for the different businesses they have partnered with.
Second North American License
After securing the additional $4.5m in funding, Oddin.gg announced that its intentions were to move into the burgeoning North American market.
The acquisition of the license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (ACGO) is the second North American license that the company has landed in recent times, coming a short time after Oddin.gg also acquired a similar license to operate within the key state of New Jersey in the U.S.
However, the move into Canada is seen as key with the Co-Founder and CEO of Oddin.gg, Vlastimil Venclik, revealing that the company felt that Canada was further along the process of accepting and embracing esports betting than the United States.
That said, the company is still believed to be in talks with a number of different United States-based betting sites who would like to team up with Oddin.gg to allow them to enhance and improve their esports betting services, or even to start to begin to offer this type of betting to its customers.
Another Option For Native Ontarians
Oddin.gg joins the likes of Rivalry in securing a license to operate in Ontario and they are now one of a number of esports betting services that are offering such betting in the state.
Despite only offering online sports betting from earlier this year, native Ontarions now have another option alongside the likes of Betway, Bwin, FanDuel, DraftKings, bet365 and Rivalry for their sports and esports betting needs.
This is a solid move from Oddin.gg, especially with news that there is a growing feeling that clearer and less restrictive legislation is about to be introduced in the United States which will streamline and offer greater clarity and uniformity within the different sports and esports betting markets across the country.
Their experience with New Jersey and Ontario will likely leave the company in a. good position to capitalise on any such legislation that may be forthcoming in the potentially lucrative North American region.
