PAGCOR Launches Its Own Online Casino Under the Casino Filipino Brand at the Beginning of 2024

After the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) experienced various issues with the offshore operators related to fighting against crime and finally succeeded in increasing its gaming income after the pandemic, it seems the corporation finally has time to spare and make its plans to become a reality. At the very beginning of 2024, the regulator will launch its own online casino.

New online adventure:

On Thursday, July 20th, the regulator decided to announce its plans to the public. The casino will be launched under the famous Casino Filipino brand, and players all around the world will be able to enjoy some of the most popular games on the casinofilipino.com website.

The online casino’s launch is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024, and PAGCOR is planning to create the whole gaming experience to be as close as possible to the one from the land-based casinos. In order to achieve this, the regulator will use virtual reality-based technology. The players will be able to experience the sounds and sights of the physical casinos, so the whole gaming experience will be as reminiscent as possible of the traditional land-based one

Alejandro Tengco, a CEO and Chairman of the PAGCOR, said: “It will allow players to interact with the digital counterparts of traditional casino games. It will also transcend physical boundaries and will enable users from around the world to interact and participate in virtual environments. It can reach a global audience and can establish a presence in virtual communities of avid gamers. It will likewise offer an opportunity to tap into new markets and diversify its customer base.”

According to the source, Tengco is positive that the development of the online casino will be greatly beneficial to the whole market since the revenue will be bigger, and it will allow the market to reach new customers and further expand. On top of that, the expenses needed for this project will be small compared to the already existing casinos, so the reduction of the costs isn’t negligible.

It’s still unknown if PAGCOR will be the owner of casinofilipino.com or stick to its plan to sell its casinos in years to come and offer it to the company.

New adjustments and improvements:

In the future, PAGCOR will focus on upgrading its slot machine operations, making them more modern to align with the current growth in the market. The initial work has already begun, and 3,500 old machines will be replaced with new ones. Besides the machines, PAGCOR will work on the development of Information Technology programs and systems, which will improve the regulator’s Casino Management System.

Tengco commented: “This will play a pivotal role in improving PAGCOR’s casinos in terms of operational efficiency, enhancing customer experience, facilitating real-time reporting and analytics, ensuring security and fraud prevention, optimizing financial management and streamlining compliance requirements.”
