December 11, 20:10 : Permitta also qualify for Katowice Play-In

ESL have confirmed to HLTV that with their Polish Championship win, Permitta have qualified for the IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In. fnatic are the other team to have secured a Play-In spot thus far.

Permitta have secured themselves the ESL Polish Championship Autumn title in confident fashion, comfortably dispatching of PACT 2-0 on Inferno (16-10) and Nuke (16-10) to grab the national trophy. They also grab a spot in the ESL Pro League Season 17 Conference with the victory, becoming the 17th team to secure a spot at the tournament that will offer six spots in the main league.

Ultimately Permitta was a deserved winner of the Polish Championship, topping the group before easing past the second-highest ranked team in the playoffs, ThunderFlash, in the semi-finals.

Permitta’s casey was the competition’s highest-rated player in the playoffs

PACT can be proud of their run despite ultimately falling in second place as they performed admirably in the group stage and then bested the highest-ranked team in the playoffs, AGO, on their way to the final.

A raft of quality teams await Permitta in the EPL Conference, with Outsiders, Movistar Riders, Imperial and paiN all already qualified for the event. Another spot in ESL’s second-tier league will be decided in the coming hours, with ESL Brasil Premier League set to end this evening. ARCTIC and 00NATION are the teams who will do battle to decide who takes that berth.

Permitta‘s core of Rafał “iso” Tync, Mariusz “casey” Jarząb and Dawid “Layner” Falczyński have been plying their trade together on-and-off since 2020, only having joined their current organisation in November. Already the team has reached new heights in that time, hitting the core’s peak ranking of No. 60 not long after signing with Permitta.

In general the squad has been achieving solid success in recent months, winning ESEA Advanced during the end of their stint playing under PALOMA and now securing a spot in ESL Pro League Season 17 Conference.

As for PACT, they were underdogs heading into the final considering over 50 places separated them and Permitta in the HLTV rankings. The trio of Bartosz “bnox” Niebisz, Dawid “lunAtic” Cieślak and Maciej “b1elany” Biliński briefly peaked at No. 64 in the world rankings with PACT mid-way through 2021 but since that time they have struggled to kick on, their most notable result this year outside of this Polish Championship run being a second-place finish in Esport Tour 2022 Series 1. They currently sit at No. 120 in the rankings.
