The Lunar New Year has begun, and Pokémon Go has an in-game event that will be taking place for the next week as the celebration goes on.

The Pokémon Go event begins Feb. 2 and runs until Feb. 7 and features a lot of event bonuses and new spawns, including the debut of Shiny Litleo.

Here’s everything we know about Pokemon Go’s Lunar New Year Event Field Research Task Encounters.

According to the blog post written by the Pokemon Company, they said, “The following Pokémon will be available to encounter when you complete Field Research tasks! Complete certain Field Research tasks to earn Mega Energy for the following Pokémon.”

The Pokemon that can be encountered during Field Research Tasks are listed below:

Meowth is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 1.

Meowth is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 1.

Magikarp is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 1.

Darumaka is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 5.

Litleo is a dual-type Fire/Normal Pokémon introduced in Generation 6.

Espurr is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 6.

Not only that, but players who complete Field Research Tasks will also earn them Mega Gyarados Energy.

Niantic wrote, “If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny [Pokemon]!”
