Potential Trade Destinations for Denzel Mims

Denzel Mims has requested a trade from the New York Jets after not getting his desired playing time. Here are potential trade destinations for Denzel Mims.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have needed wide receiver help for some time. That need was increased when they traded away Davante Adams this offseason. They drafted Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, who have drawn a little criticism, but a whole lot more praise this preseason.

If they want to take another flyer out on a receiver before the season, they may trade for Mims. The Packers may like what they have in house, but giving Mims a chance with some of the other wide receivers couldn’t hurt as they try to make a push for the Super Bowl.

Chicago Bears

The Bears have not set up Justin Fields for long-term success. They failed to greatly improve the offensive line or the wide receiver position. Velus Jones Jr. was drafted, but he was mostly productive as a kick returner in college. If they want Fields to work out, they need to get him more help.

Chicago has a promising young receiver in Darnell Mooney, so Mims could line up on the other side of the field from him to give Fields more viable options. Right now, there aren’t too many players on the team who get open a lot. While Mims hasn’t proven to be greatly productive yet, giving him a chance is a low-risk, high-reward proposition for the Bears.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have an offense that doesn’t really feature wide receivers. They use tight ends more than usual. That is part of the reason why they traded away Marquise Brown. Baltimore does have Rashod Bateman emerging after he was injured at the start of last season. More is needed at the position though.

If the Ravens had a high draft grade on Mims, they may have the urge to acquire him. The good news is, at this point, they could get him for way cheaper than they would’ve had they drafted him. Giving up a late-round pick to improve the receiver room would be worth it.

Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta is without Calvin Ridley this season who was suspended for the entire year due to gambling. They drafted Drake London, but if they want their offense to improve, they may need more at the position. Getting more wide receiver help could help the development of Desmond Ridder or a quarterback they select in next year’s draft.

This offseason, they have already acquired Bryan Edwards from the Raiders. Defenses will be keying on Kyle Pitts and London, so getting more receivers to take the attention away from them will help. Mims will come at a cheap price and could really help the Falcons.

Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas has made plenty of moves this offseason that show they are ready to compete. Davante Adams joins Hunter Renfrow in the receiving core, but after that, things are pretty thin. If they truly want to compete for a Super Bowl, getting another wide receiver would help.

As mentioned, the Raiders traded away Bryan Edwards. Currently, they have Mack Hollins, Keelan Cole and a few other names behind their two stars. Adding Mims to compete for a spot could really help. Mims has battled injuries and not had the best opportunity in New York, but could still work out somewhere else.
