RB Jeremy McNichols Hits IR After Injury

Running back Jeremy McNichols will hit the injured reserve. After a shoulder injury in training camp threatened to sideline him, it appears that the injury to McNichols was severe enough to place him on IR, which guarantees six weeks of inactivity.

ESPN’s Brooke Pryor reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.

The Steelers are McNichols ninth team since entering the league in 2017 (including two separate stints with the Titans). He was originally a fifth round selection by the Buccaneers in 2017. He then bounced around to the Niners, Colts, Broncos, Titans, Bears, Jaguars, Titans (again) and Falcons before finally joining the Steelers during the 2022 offseason.

McNichols’ best year came in 2020, when he played in all 16 games. He rushed 47 times for 204 yards and one touchdown. He managed to tack on 55 more yards in the passing game, as well. He has 364 total career rushing yards.
