Real Madrid vs Club America Match Analysis and Prediction

Real Madrid play a pre-season friendly against Mexican side Club America on Wednesday, as they continue their preparations for the 2022-23 campaign.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will enter the contest off the back of a 1-0 defeat against Barcelona on Saturday, while America have played Chelsea and Manchetser City in friendlies this summer, losing 2-1 in both matches.

Real Madrid started their preparations for the new season with a 1-0 defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico, with Raphinha scoring the only goal of the game in Las Vegas.

They will now face Club America and Juventus in their final two friendlies of the summer before taking on Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Super Cup on August 10, while their 2022-23 La Liga campaign will begin with an away match against Almiera on August 14.

Los Blancos have only made two signings during this summer’s transfer window, welcoming Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger, and Ancelotti has insisted that the club’s transfer business ahead of the new season has been completed.

Ancelotti’s side ended last season by lifting the European Cup for the 14th time in their history, defeating Liverpool 1-0 in the final, while they also finished 13 points ahead of second-place Barcelona in La Liga.

Meanwhile, America have won their domestic title on 13 occasions, placing them one ahead of Guadalajara when it comes to championships, and they are already four matches into their current campaign, picking up just four points with a record of one win, one draw and two defeats.

They began their campaign with a goalless draw against Atlas before losing 3-2 to Monterey on July 10. They then defeated Toluca 1-0 on July 14 but will enter this game off the back of a 2-0 defeat against Tijuana on Sunday, with Lisandro Lopez and Joaquin Montecinos on the scoresheet.

Real Madrid news

Karim Benzema is expected to play the full second half against America, but Dani Carvajal’s is a doubt due to an ankle problem that he sustained in training.

Ferland Mendy, Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric are all in line for starts, while Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior and Eden Hazard could continue as the front three.

Club America news

America could make a change in the final third of the field, with Henry Martin potentially coming in for Rodriguez, who could feature off the bench in the second half.

Jonathan dos Santos is likely to get a spot in the midfield once again, while Alvaro Fidalgo is expected to feature from the outset.

Prediction and Odds

Real Madrid will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat against Barcelona last time out, and we expect Los Blancos to come out on top on Wednesday.

Benzema’s return will boost Ancelotti’s side and we are backing the Frenchman to get his name on the scoresheet for his side.
