Expect more crazy shenanigans, over-the-top fight sequences, and of course, revamped character job classes. So, here’s everything that’s been confirmed for the Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth jobs system.

What is the Job System in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth?

The Job System in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth will let Ichiban Kasuga, Kazuma Kiryu, and your other party members use different fighting techniques to take on your foes. These jobs can change up the overall style of how a character plays. After a fight, you get both character EXP points and job EXP points. Your chosen job levels up separately from your character. Although it is not mandatory to take up different jobs, it can add to the overall experience of the game given how over-the-top they are.

The jobs system in the previous installment – Yakuza: Like a Dragon, was very robust as it offered characters 14 different job classes to choose from. Each class in the previous game came with its own unique set of benefits which allowed for a much diverse range of player freedom and expression. Some jobs allowed characters to provide more offensive and defensive support while other jobs focused more on buffs and debuffs.

All of these features are being carried over to the newest title as well! So, players can expect a revamped job system that will integrate into their play style. Here are all the different job classes that has been confirmed so far:

  • Hero – Ichiban Kasuga Exclusive
  • Dragon of Dojima – Kazuma Kiryu Exclusive
  • Cabbie – Eric Tomizawa Exclusive
  • Heiress – Chitose Fujinomiya Exclusive
  • Homeless Guy – Yu Nanba Exclusive
  • Detective – Koichi Adachi Exclusive
  • Barmaid – Saeko Mukoda Exclusive
  • Assassin – Seonhee Exclusive
  • Hitman – Joongi Han Exclusive
  • Mafia – Tianyou Zhao Exclusive
  • Samurai
  • Aquanut
  • Desperado
  • Kunoichi
  • Housekeeper
  • Geodancer

The “Hero” job class for Ichiban Kasuga will allow him to heal and buff his allies in multiple ways. Whereas, Kiryu’s “Dragon of Dojima” class will let him break away from the turn-based RPG-style of combat to a beat-em style free-roam gameplay. This harkens back to the previous format of gameplay last seen in the Yakuza series.

You can also see from the list that certain jobs are character specific while others can be freely taken up by anyone. This gives players immense freedom to engage with the game’s combat however they please.

Breakdown of the Different Job Classes

With so many job classes to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming to pick just one. Luckily, the game will allow you to change your class whenever you need. But before delving into the system, here’s what you can expect from the different classes:

  • Aquanaut – The Aquanaut job class will let players use a variety of water and surf-based attacks. This is heavily inspired by the game’s new Hawaii-based setting. So, don’t be surprised when one of your characters whips out a sea creature to whack your enemies in the face with it.
  • Geodancer – The Geodancer class will enable characters to unleash powerful elemental attacks using dance moves. Yes, we know how that sounds but we would expect nothing less from RGG (Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio).
  • Samurai – The Samurai class feels like a call-back to Like a Dragon: Ishin. Players will be able to roleplay as a Samurai and use a variety of sword and bow attacks in both up-front face-to-face and long-distance scenarios.
  • Housekeeper – We can already imagine the laughs at RGG when they came up with the Housekeeper job class. The player will use brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, and other tools to literally wipe away their foes.
  • Desperado – The Desperado job class will see players using pistols and lassos like in classic Western movies. Having an old Western standoff in the middle of a tropical island is nothing short of ridiculous and we absolutely love it.
  • Kunoichi – The Kunoichi job class will let players fight like a ninja using a plethora of ninja tools and arts to subdue their opponent. Perhaps RGG is also hinting at a future title here?
