Sony Adding The Entire Yakuza Collection To PS Plus By The End Of 2022

Yakuza Like A Dragon is a part of this month’s PS Plus line-up, but Sony has more in store for Yakuza fans until the end of this year.

Earlier today and before Sony’s official announcement, the titles coming to PS Plus Essential in August 2022 were leaked online, including Yakuza: Like A Dragon, the latest game in the Yakuza series with a brand new gameplay system and protagonist that excited fans for a bright future for the series with Ichiban. However, if you still haven’t played the original Saga starring Kazuma Kiryu, PS Plus has got you covered!

Sony officially revealed that the entire collection of mainline Yakuza titles will be available for the PS Plus Premium members until the end of 2022. That being said, PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Essential members will also receive access to a select number of iterations in the Yakuza series.

In August 2022, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will receive access to Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, and Yakuza: Like A Dragon. The latest entry will be available for PS Plus Essential members as well.

Later in 2022, Sony will bring the remastered versions of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 only for PS Plus Premium members. On the other hand, Yakuza 6: Song of Life will be available for both Premium and Extra subscribers.

So, if you want to play every single title from the Yakuza series, you need to get a PS Plus Premium membership sooner or later. But for now, you can enjoy the upcoming Yakuza iterations to the service with an Extra or even an Essential membership tier.

It’s worth noting that Microsoft’s Xbox/PC Game Pass already features the entire Yakuza collection as part of the service for over a year. So, these new additions from PS Plus are going to help the service to go toe-to-toe with Xbox in this particular area.

Currently, there is no exact release date for the new PS Plus games for August 2022, but Sony is expected to reveal the dates once we enter the month of August. Yakuza Like A Dragon is expected to be available earlier in August as part of the PS Plus Essential drop, while the other Yakuza additions for the next month will probably launch in the later half.
