Squad Update 6.0 Now Available

Squad Update 6.0 Now Available

As part of update 6.0, a number of enhancements have been made to Offworld Industries’ 50v50 military FPS Squad.

One of the biggest ways Squad has changed can be seen in differences made to the gameplay experience. Update 6.0 was created to ensure approachability for new and existing players, all while mitigating the steep learning curve found in Squad’s combat mechanics.

These changes include a complete rework of its suppression system, the inclusion of Picture-in-Picture (PiP) scopes, changes to gunplay to ensure a more enjoyable, team-oriented infantry style of place, and the chance for players in a bad position to be wounded as opposed to instantly killed. The whole of infantry combat has also been overhauled.

Other tweaks to Squad include adjustments to player movement, which were designed to encourage more deliberate and team-oriented positioning. Update 6.0 also brings with it proximity indicators that can be used to keep track of fellow soldiers, along with new weapon skins. These skins are the first in a planned series of packs that give players the chance to customize their loadout.

New to Squad? This large-scale combined-arms multiplayer FPS puts the spotlight on combat realism through the use of both communication and team play. This, in turn, emphasizes strong squad cohesion mechanics and larger-scale coordination, tactics, and planning.

23 massive open maps are included in all, along with vehicle-based combined arms gameplay, and player-constructed bases.
