T1 has registered Sky, its coach as the official sixth man on the roster

T1 finally has an official sixth man on the roster.

With the first round of the LCK Spring Split almost compete and the second just around the corner, T1 has issued an official statement regarding its roster this season. From the second round of the LCK Spring Split, T1 will be fielding one of its coaches, Kim “Sky” Ha-Neul as a substitute player for the remainder of the split.

His addition to the team was also due to the rules set by Riot Games for their international events, which include MSI and Worlds, said the team’s general manager, Jeong “Becker” Hoi-toon. He also said that Sky will be signed with an official player contract and will be registered as a player for at least one round in the LCK regional league.

To meet the LoL Esports’ Summoner Name Policy, Sky will also be changing his IGN to “Skyyy”. This is so the team meets the deadline in order to be a contendant for MSI, which is just a few short months away. But whether or not we will see Skyyy is some official capacity during the rest of T1’s spring split remains to be seen.

Aside from their shock loss against Hanwha Life Esports, T1 has not dropped a single game before and after that series. They also managed to win half of their matches so far at 2-0, an impressive feat for the three-time world champions. However, they do face a big test this week.

Heading into the final week of the first round of games, T1 will be going up against both Gen.G Esports and SANDBOX Gaming with the latter being one of this year’s most surprising teams to impress. This will now be T1’s second series against Gen.G after their impressive 2-0 sweep at the start of the split.

T1 will be looking to finish strong to end the first round of the spring split. Despite not being able to maintain their unbeaten split run, they have been performing at a high level on a consistent basis. While Gen.G and SANDBOX are no slouches either, it will prove to be two games worth watching for the coming days.

They go up against SANDBOX first on Friday, February 17 followed by their second series against Gen.G on Sunday, February 19. Their Friday fixture starts at 4.00 pm UTC+8 whilst their Sunday game begins at 2.00 pm UTC+8. Catch all the action at the official LCK Twitch channel.
