2023 Summer Review

It was a learning year for Team Liquid in 2023. They were a strong team in the LCS and were able to find some solid young pieces along the way. They finished 10-8 in the Summer and were one game away from playing Cloud9 in the finals.

They found out that Summit and Pyosik were not the right fit for their younger team. While there was a lot of criticism surrounding players on both ends of the Rift, Team Liquid took a clear stance heading into 2024.

2024 Spring Split Roster

Top- Impact

Jng- UmTi

Mid- APA

Bot- Yeon

Sup- CoreJJ

That is right TL fans, Impact is back in the top lane and ready to be exactly what this team needs, an immovable object. CoreJJ is also back and while he has looked weaker at points, he is still one of the best LCS supports. APA and Yeon make up the young core of the team and will look to build on their strong ends to 2023. UmTi is the new guy but he certainly isn’t new to League of Legends. Many believe that he is a strong talent that will fit better with the style this squad wants to play than Pyosik did.

2024 Spring Split Player to Watch: APA

There is no doubt that APA is the player to watch. His champion pool has been questioned since he came up and now he has had a full offseason to practice not only his best champs but plenty of new additions as well. He will have to be the playmaker for this squad as many of the players around him are a bit more passive. This will result in some issues as he will look like he is feeding when he really isn’t. But, as long as he takes smart risks and stays on the same page as the rest of his team, he will have the opportunity to change the discussion from his champ pool to a potential All-Pro spot.

Predicted Spring Placement: 3rd

This is a very strong squad but one that has noticeable weaknesses at their DPS positions. Not because APA or Yeon lack talent. It is just the lack of experience that will likely lose them some games here or there. The reason why C9 and NRG are ahead of them for now is synergy with most of the members and a lot of veterans. Team Liquid will be a threat. Just wait until a little later in the season.
