The Front Now Available in Early Access

The world of Samar Studios’ survival open-world crafting shooter The Front is now available in Early Access.

Taking place in a post-apocalyptic sandbox populated by mutants and hostile factions, The Front has players taking on threats like imperial forces, exiles, thugs, and rebels. As players fight for the fate of humanity, they’ll be able to band together with friends, explore ruins and enemy areas, craft weapons and equipment, upgrade technology, build bases – and defend them – with tower defense-style traps, and even pilot tanks and helicopters.

Don’t just take their word for it; we got some hands-on time with the game and feel like it could be the best one to date. Our preview, which can be seen below, covers every aspect of the game: gathering, crafting, building, PvE tower defense, combat, exploration, progression, and survival mechanics.

As part of this Early Access release, The Front will debut item crates that players can get for themselves by spending a set amount of time in-game. By opening them from The Front’s main menu, players can get themselves item skins that will appear in their Steam inventory. From there, players can trade or sell these skins on the Steam Community Market.
