The Witcher’s ‘Gwent’ Is Getting a New Singleplayer Standalone Game This Year Codenamed ‘Project Golden Nekker’ The Witcher 3’s mini-game Gwent evolved into a full game that released on all platforms including mobile. It then saw a full blown singleplayer adventure arrive on PC and console platforms in the form of the excellent Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales that also came to mobile before getting replaced by a free to start version. Today, CD Projekt Red has revealed (via IGN) a new singleplayer standalone Gwent game codenamed ‘Project Golden Nekker’. Project Golden Nekker aims to provide a captivating singleplayer Gwent experience and it will not need you to own any other versions of Gwent. Watch the trailer for the excellent Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales below:

Project Golden Nekker will also have its own cards with The Barbarian, The Nekker, Living Fire, and Fire Elemental having been just revealed in the IGN announcement. As of now, Project Golden Nekker is set to launch this year. It is likely that the initial launch will be only on PC or on PC with a few consoles. I don’t expect it, but hope we get news for Project Golden Nekker on mobile soon after the game gets its full reveal with gameplay shown off. Until then, read my original review of Thronebreaker on mobile here.
