With the conclusion of the VCT EMEA 2023 Regular Season, we present the elite group of the top 10 best Valorant players

The eight-week-long regular season encompassed several captivating moments, ranging from FNATIC stomping past every competition to the upset eliminations of powerhouse teams like Team Heretics and KOI. Throughout the league stage, we had the privilege of witnessing the emergence of extraordinary Valorant players, guiding their teams to success with their exceptional skills. Now, heading into the eagerly-awaited playoffs bracket, let us look at the top 10 best players of the VCT EMEA 2023 Regular Season. 

To ensure diversity across the list, we have opted to pick only the crème de la crème of each team. As for the metrics used to select the order, we utilized the VLR Rating system.

Emir “Alfajer” Beder – FNATIC

• Role: Sentinel
• VLR Rating: 1.35
• Average Combat Score (ACS): 242.8
• Kill-Death Ratio: 1.69

The first on our list, Alfajer, is also the sole sentinel player here. The mere fact that Alfajer is the highest-rated player from FNATIC speaks volumes, considering his teammates are widely regarded as some of the finest in the world. To accommodate Derke’s preferred role, Alfajer transitioned to the sentinel role for FNATIC. Despite this role change, the 17-year-old prodigy consistently delivers mind-boggling statistics every time he steps onto the stage.

Joining the team two weeks late due to visa issues, the young Turk did not waste time blending in. As evidenced by the unparalleled K/D ratio, his shutdowns and clutch ability were unmatched in the regular season.

Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel – Team Liquid

The title of the best duelist did not fall upon the anticipated Derke but rather on Team Liquid’s entry-fragger, Sayf. Undoubtedly the most improved player from last season, Sayf is having the best event of his life. 

The Swede joined Team Liquid after ending a rather unsuccessful 2-year-long tenure with Guild Esports. Despite the immense promise, he had a poor showing in the LOCK//IN event, where his team got eliminated in the first round. Nevertheless, as the EMEA League unfolded, we were privileged to witness a revitalized version of the 22-year-old Swede, who consistently delivered MVP-worthy displays, helping his team to finish 3rd in the standings.

Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas – Giants Gaming

Nukkye, renowned for his exceptional adaptability, has once again proven why he is regarded as one of the world’s finest flex players. The former G2 Esports duelist main has adapted to a more flexible role in the new Giants Gaming roster, allowing the talented Spaniard Fit1nho to assume the duelist role.

While Nukkye was primarily recognized for his extraordinary entry-fragging prowess in the past, this season unveiled an entirely new facet of the Lithuanian player—his exceptional clutch potential. The sheer number of seemingly impossible rounds that the 26-year-old singlehandedly secured for his team played a pivotal role in Giants Gaming’s successful qualification for the playoffs.

Pontus “Zyppan” Eek – NAVI

• Role: Initiator
• VLR Rating: 1.15

While not necessarily the flashiest player on NAVI’s roster, Zyppan undoubtedly leaves the most profound impact. Apart from FNATIC’s leo, no other initiator in the EMEA League has stats on par with the Swede. The 22-year-old’s impeccable aim has been a subject of widespread admiration throughout the regular season. With 34% HS, he has the highest headshot percentage among the teams qualified for playoffs.

Konur “qw1” Şahin – FUT Esports

• Role: Duelist

FUT Esports is notorious for its fast-paced playstyle, and at the center of this dynamic approach is none other than qw1. The 20-year-old is not your regular one-trick Jett main. qw1’s arsenal as a duelist main is much broader. He is one of the select few in the region who can utilize Neon to her full potential. Since FUT Esports thrives on maintaining momentum, the Turkish youngster’s ability to consistently secure First Bloods becomes instrumental.

Nikita “trexx” Cherednichenko – KOI

• Role: Flex
• VLR Rating: 1.11
• Average Combat Score (ACS): 226.4

• Headshot Percentage: 17%

Another flex player on the list who, unfortunately, lacked the necessary support from his team. However, unlike nukkye, trexx could not carry his team to qualification despite having a stellar event. After a promising win over NAVI in the first week, everything seemed to fall apart for the team. However, trexx, with his god-like sprays, was a menace to deal with. In what was otherwise a forgetful event, the only takeaway from the regular season for KOI would be the Russian’s performance throughout the eight weeks of the league stage.

Doğukan “QutionerX” Dural – BBL Esports

• Headshot Percentage: 26%

Few can be as entertaining on Jett as QuitonerX. The turkish player, with his flashy playstyle, has caught the eyes of many during the regular season. Although BBL’s “run it down” strat could not bear fruit against the best teams, it was still a treat for the fans to watch. QuitionerX, with his entries, can only do so much, though. The rest of the team had a disappointing event, with none of them having a rating over 1.0.

Michał “MOLSI” Łącki – Team Vitality

MOLSI emerged as Team Vitality’s backbone during the regular season. Alongside Twisten, his exceptional contributions propelled Vitality to a fiery start in the league stage, securing three wins and suffering only a single loss. It went all downhill for the Spanish org from there. However, despite the team’s struggles in the latter half of the league, MOLSI’s standout performances played a pivotal role in Team Vitality’s qualification for playoffs.

Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom – Karmine Corp

Nivera showcased an impressively solid performance throughout the event, despite the underwhelming display from his team. Karmine Corp, with their rookie mistakes in-game, almost became a meme in the community. Nivera and his brother, ScreaM, are the only members of the squad with somewhat noteworthy performances. The younger of the Belgian brothers, notably, stepped into the role of secondary OP-er, reminding everyone of his Counter-Strike career.

Auni “AvovA” Chahade – Team Heretics

Avova, during his time in G2 Esports, was considered one of the best controller players in the region. At the beginning of this season, the 24-year-old Danish player, alongside prominent figures like mixwell and zeek, was brought into Team Heretics to solidify the roster. While the team had massive expectations, Avova and Co failed miserably in the league stage. The Danish player himself may have had a slightly underwhelming showing, but it still fared somewhat better than that of his fellow teammates.
