Top 5 best Katanas in Cyberpunk 2077

Top 5 best Katanas in Cyberpunk 2077

For some reason, Japanese weaponry and cyberpunk settings seem to go hand in hand. On paper, this doesn’t make a lot of sense. But in practice, there’s something very cool about a cyberpunk mercenary riding a motorbike with a Katana in hand. So it stands to reason that Katanas in Cyberpunk 2077 would be pretty cool too. They’re actually one of the best weapon types in the game in fact. So let’s go through five of the best Katanas you can find in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077: Top 5 Katanas

Byakko

You get Byakko for completing all of Wakako Okada’s Gigs in Westbrook. This is a Katana that comes with a rather nice modifier that increases its range by one meter. Killing an enemy also removes the pause between light attack combos. So V can whip out attacks for as long as their stamina will let them. This is a Katana that’s reasonably easy to get, looks cool and Turns V into a lightning-fast sword user.

Scalpel

To find Scalpel, you need to complete the Big in Japan side quest. You’ll get this quest by talking to Dennis in the Afterlife during Act 2. For completing the quest you’ll get Scalpel. Now if you’re a Sandevistan user, this Katana will likely be your best friend. When Sandevistan is active, Scalpel’s Crit Chance increases by 50% and there’s a 100% chance to apply Bleed. With the right build, this can be one of the best katanas in Cyberpunk 2077. If you aren’t using a Sandvesitan you’d be better with other Katanas though.

Jinchu-Maru

The Jinchu-Maru is looted off of Sandayu Oda’s body during the Play it Safe quest. This Katana is best paired with Optical Camo as it increases Crit Chance by 100%. Plus, the last hit of a combo will always deal double damage. Spring into a room with unaware enemies and get to slicing to deal a ton of damage quickly.

Tsumetogi

Tsumetogi can be found during the Pisces side quest for Judy Alvarez. This is an interesting Katana since it deals Electrical damage instead of Physical and each attack has a 20% chance to apply Shock. Plus when you sprinting, jumping, or dodging attacks will deal 5% more damage. If your playstyle has you utilizing a bunch of movement tech, then this Katana could slot nicely into that playstyle.

Errata

The Errata is found during the Disasterpiece quest hanging out of a furnace in the Electric Corporation power plant. This is the iconic Katana used in some recent trailers for Cyberpunk 2077. It’s also my personal favorite and the one I’ve used for most of my playtime. The Errata deals fire damage, and when you attack a burning enemy you get guaranteed Crit Damage. And since each swing has a 30% chance to apply burning, you’ve got a high likelihood of dealing a lot of damage. The Errata is without a doubt one of the best katanas in Cyberpunk 2077.
