Huracan make a trip to the Estadio 15 de Abril to take on Union on Sunday in the round eight of the 2022 Argentine Primera Division campaign.
The two sides are closely matches in the league standings heading into this game, which promises to be a closely-contested affair.
Union were eliminated from the Copa Argentina round of 32 on Wednesday through a 2-1 defeat against Banfield at the Estadio Florencio Sola.
Mauro Luna Diale found the opener for Union in the 17th minute, but goals in either half from Jesus Datolo and Emanuel Coronel turned the tie around.
However, Gustavo Munua’s side claimed a 3-2 victory over Banfield in their last league game, which was their third consecutive victory in the Primera Division, and now sit ninth in the table with 13 points from a possible 21.
Next up is the challenge of an opposing side who have failed to win any of the five most recent meetings between the teams.
In the last Argentine Primera Division meeting between the two sides, they played out a goalless draw at the Estadio Tomas Adolfo Duco in 2021.
Meanwhile, Huracan came out on top in a 3-2 thriller for the second match running as they narrowly edged out Lanus at the Estadio Nestor Diaz Perez on Monday, which saw them extend their unbeaten run to six matches.
Frank Dario Kudelka’s side were trailing 2-1 at the break before hitting back in the second half through goals from Benjamin Garre and Matias Coccaro.
As a result, Huracan have moved up to third place in the Primera Division standings, one point adrift of current league leaders Newell’s Old Boys.
Having picked up seven points from their last three matches away from home, Sunday’s visitors will be full of confidence ahead of the trip to Santa Fe.
