Valorant: C9 White Dynasty Disbands

Right before VCT Game Changers in 2023 next year, C9 White Dynasty parts ways from their competitive Valorant roster as players look forward to join other teams.

C9 White established their dominance across the Valorant competitive scene by taking 6 first place Valorant Game Changer’s trophies home. Their only loss was against Shopify Rebellion, who were able to knock out the White Dynasty in the lower bracket semifinal at VCT Game Changers Championship in 2022.

Right ahead of VCT Game Changers in 2023, C9 White announced their roster drop through a goodbye video on the official Cloud9 YouTube channel. Melanie “meL” Capone, Alexis Guarrasi, Bob Tran, Jasmine “Jazzyk1ns” Manankil and Katja “katsumi” Pfahnl have parted ways with their former team team, with some being free agents for now while the others are rumoured to have already established their footing in different teams within the Valorant competitive scene.

“My time with Cloud9 has been an unforgettable experience and I’m so thankful for everything they did to support my teammates and me.” stated Alexis “Alexis” Guarassi in a blog post on Cloud9’s official site. “Two years ago, I never could have imagined I’d be afforded the opportunities I have today as a professional VALORANT player. Cloud9 played a major role in establishing Game Changers and it was an honor to have been a part of this defining legacy.” said the former C9 White player.

The team of five has swept clean 6x Valorant trophies, with their last tournament being a fourth-place finish at the VCT Championship in Germany. This is where their defeat against Shopify Rebellion, with the latter having a 2-1 lead. Shopify Rebellion, however, had been bested by C9’s roster in the earlier North American series, but couldn’t stop themselves from emerging victorious in the grand championship. With 2022 coming to a close, we expect many new roster changes in the professional esports scene especially after the departure of C9 from Valorant.

Through a long post on Twitlonger, the IGL Melanie “Mel” Capone” detailed her journey while and expressed gratitude for the entirety of her team. However, with the roster drop of C9 White from Valorant, we do not expect any of it’s young talents to depart from competitive Valorant. The impactful female Valorant team will remembered for their dominance across the North American side of Valorant Esports. With many rumors regarding the formation of a new team, there is still no official update from any of C9 White’s former members regarding their next venture. We wish the players the very best as we remember Cloud9 White’s legacy for being the greatest Valorant teams to ever exist.
