A wave of false VAC bans has been tormenting Asian CS:GO players for the past few weeks. Professional players and streamers from the region started receiving VAC bans on their accounts a few weeks back, many of them had no idea why they were receiving these bans.Â
Valve has confirmed these are false VAC bans and blames the 5E client’s trusted mode. 5E has since disabled its trusted mode and is working with Valve to roll back existing VAC bans.Â
The 5E client circumvents CS:GO’s Trusted Mode, and that is causing VAC bans for their players. When 5E fixes their client and stops generating new VAC bans, we will roll back bans for affected users.

Despite repeated attempts to get Valve’s attention, the VAC ban wave has run rampant, until now. Valve has confirmed the issue lies with 5Ewin’s trusted mode client.Â
Valve Blames 5EWin’s Trusted Mode for VAC Bans
5Ewin is a third-party 128-tick server for CS:GO players from Asia. It is extremely popular with many streamers and professional players as it provides an optimal experience compared to normal matchmaking. The platform implemented its trusted mode (not to be confused with Valve’s Trusted mode) that circumvents Valve’s Anti-cheat. This trusted mode caused the series of VAC bans in recent weeks says Valve.Â
In a follow-up to Valve’s reply, 5Ewin has since disabled its trusted mode in the client. The platform claims no additional accounts will receive VAC bans if they play on 5Ewin. Â
At present playing CS:GO on 5EArena is safe. We have temporarily closed trust mode and VAC detection, to make sure 5E users can play games safely without occurring new compatibility problem or VAC problem until the problem is repaired. – 5EPlay.
Valve and 5Ewin are working together to solve past VAC bans. Valve will roll back VAC bans after verifying client repairs and further details.Â
