VCT Masters Tokyo Playoffs 2023 Format and Schedule

Following the opening Group Stage, the Playoffs will feature only the top 8 teams in the world. This includes the four teams from the Group Stage, and the four High Seeded teams.

Taking place between 16th and 25th June, a double elimination bracket will have the teams seeded into the opening Upper Bracket matches – ripe for VALORANT betting.

Moreover, all matches are BO3 except for the Lower Final and Grand Final being BO5. For those unaware, teams in the double elimination bracket have two lifelines – two losses means elimination.

At the end of the day, apart from the $1,000,000 prize pool, the seeds for grabs are for VALORANT Champions and the Last Chance Qualifier.

Upper Bracket Quarterfinals – 16th June

  • LOUD vs Evil Geniuses (05:00 CEST)
  • Team Liquid vs EDward Gaming (08:00 CEST)

Upper Bracket Quarterfinals – 17th June

  • Fnatic vs NRG (05:00 CEST)
  • Paper Rex vs DRX (08:00 CEST)

Helping us preview each of the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals are betting odds as provided by GG.Bet at the time of writing. Feel free to learn more about this particular esports betting site in our GG.Bet review!

VCT Masters Tokyo Playoffs Predictions

LOUD vs Evil Geniuses

Now this opening match is one that nobody expected. Sure, LOUD is one of the favourites for this event, just like the previous event as outlined by the outright VALORANT odds.

After finishing almost flawless at VCT Americas, LOUD looks primed to go deep into the competition.

However, their curious opponent is Evil Geniuses. Entering the competition as a low seed, they’ve managed to take down FUT and DRX in a surprising fashion.

While their underdog story is remarkable, LOUD remain the favourites in this match up. Notably, the last time these teams met, the series went the distance.

  • Predictions: LOUD (2-1) Evil Geniuses
  • Odds: LOUD Outright Win (1.37), Evil Geniuses Outright Win (3.05)

Team Liquid vs EDward Gaming

Speaking of an underdog story, EDward Gaming is the other exciting story from the Group Stage. Taking down Natus Vincere and T1, the community has fallen in love with the first Chinese team to ever win a series at a VCT event.

Facing them is the number one team from Europe, Liquid. Considering the pure talent that both of these rosters have, this should be an epic showdown of gunskill and an esports betting opportunity.

While EDward Gaming have shown some great potential, Team Liquid remain the favourites.

  • Predictions: Team Liquid (2-1) EDward Gaming
  • Odds: Team Liquid Outright Win (1.47), EDward Gaming Outright Win (2.65)

Paper Rex vs DRX

As the number one seed from VCT Pacific, Paper Rex is a force to be reckoned with. However, due to travel issues with one of their players, there is concern that they won’t be as well practiced.

Awaiting them is a long-term rival, DRX – who they’ve only ever beaten once in their history at the most recent VCT Pacific Playoffs.

Bearing this in mind, the esports odds favour DRX, but only slightly.

  • Predictions: Paper Rex (1-2) DRX
  • VALORANT Esports Odds: Paper Rex Outright Win (1.98), DRX Outright Win (1.81)
