Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Gets First Dev Diary Describing the World, Party Members, and Player Choices

Owlcat Games has released its first Dev Diary for the upcoming RPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. Check out the 3-minute video, where the developers talk about making the game in great detail, below.

In Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader‘s first Dev Diary, we get to see some of the game’s gorgeous locations. To kick things off, lead narrative designer Olga Kellner talks about bringing life to the epic grim darkness of the 41st millennium.

Rogue Trader will feature turn-based combat, as well as adventures featuring space exploration, void ship battles, intrigues, warp phenomenon, and other things that make the Warhammer 40,000 setting so unique.

Players take on the role of Rogue Trader, living their life full of adventure at the edges of the Imperium of Mankind. Decisions made by Rogue Traders end up having far-reaching consequences for entire star systems.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader will offer players a fair bit of freedom. Players can sing praises of the God-Emperor of Mankind, or team up with the enemies of mankind, incurring the wrath of the feared inquisitors.

The Dev Diary also reveals that Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader will feature a party of characters, rather than a singular Rogue Trader. Allies in the game potentially include dangerous psykers, zealous battle sisters, an Eldar ranger, or even a Space Marine from the Space Wolves chapter.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader was announced back in June. While it doesn’t yet have a release date, it is currently available for pre-order on PC. Pre-ordering the game grants access to a beta.
