What GT7 tracks support night racing and 24h day-night cycle?

While GT Sport let you race at different set times of day, Gran Turismo 7 brings back dynamic time changes and the ability to race through the night. However, in typical Polyphony Digital fashion, only some of the circuits feature night time racing and a full 24 hour day-night cycle. Which tracks are they?

What are the options for dynamic time in Gran Turismo 7?

There are different time options for different situations and modes in Gran Turismo 7. Through most of the game, when taking on races for the Menu Books, you’ll be racing at specific times and in set conditions determined by Polyphony Digital. It’s when you set up a Custom Race from the World Circuits or when creating an online multiplayer lobby that you can select from different preset weather conditions, set times of day, and choose to have custom weather.

All circuits support the passage of time, but to varying degrees. All circuits have morning through to sunset or twilight, while most circuits then have the ability to race into the night as well. However, a track that has “Night” will not then continue its time transition through to the following morning and will instead stop. For 24 hour races, the tracks need to also have “Midnight” and “Dawn”. Some also have “Early Dawn”.

Gran Turismo 7 Lobby Settings

Laguna Seca doesn’t support 24 hour racing, but you can still speed up time by 10 times.

There’s a lot of presets to choose from, and you will also see an option for Variable Time Speed Ratio. This allows you to accelerate time by up to 10 times. This means that one hour will pass in 6 minutes at its fastest and you’ll be racing for 144 minutes in order to see a full 24 hour cycle on tracks that support it.

Which tracks feature 24 hour and night racing?

Only a select few tracks support night time racing, and the full 24 hour time cycle. These are:

Americas:

  • Blue Moon Speedway
  • Colorado Springs
  • Daytona
  • Northern Isle Speedway
  • Special Stage Route X

Europe:

  • Circuit de la Sarthe *
  • Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
  • Nurburgring 24h (not Nordschleife or GP circuit)

Asia and Oceania

  • Mount Panorama
  • Tokyo Expressway

* We haven’t unlocked this tracks yet, but believe/assume this to be the case and will confirm ASAP.
